I'm going to try the otc stuff first. I don't think I tried enough different ones before the doc gave me the magic pills. If that doesn't work then I will talk to my doc about something non-narcotic.
I just noticed that the pharmacy screwed up and didn't put the refills on my bottle so I'll have to go back and have them fix that. Seems it's always something. Another reason to be done with this!
I took my normal dose this morning as that is the worst time and will probably be the last I'll give up in the end in order to get through work.
I totally agree. That is why I suggest a taper. 9 hours is great too. Other than the raging headache, how else did you feel?
Also, headaches are part of wd too. So as you taper down, you will get them. I went to sleep and woke up a couple times with the same headache. Not a great thing. But you gotta push through it.
Also how do you want to handle them after you are off Fiorecet? Over the counter ones? Imitrex? I really feel you will find after a couple months they are not as bad but you will either have to manage or deal with them. Gotta have a plan that doesn't include opiates.
Keep posting here. It'll help a lot. And message me too.
Thanks Merri... because I spent all day running around and then waiting in the doctors office and hadn't brought any pills with me I went 9 hours without them. Skipping 2 normal doses. I had a raging headache by the time I got home. I took my evening dose and not the extra that I felt I wanted. It took 2 hours but my headache has subsided some...though I do have a sore throat. I'll definitely try stretching them out tomorrow again. It's so sad that just dropping from 6/day to 5/day seems scary...but hopefully it'll work...and then I can do just 3....and so on...and on. It's really the fiorocet that worries me more than the codeine. I don't want to have a seizure or something so I know I need to go slow.
That is great!!! You can do this. Gotta be strong.
Slow and steady. Listen to your body.
So I sat in the doctors office until 6pm (3hrs) waiting on my refill. Finally when I was the last in the waiting room I went looking for the nurse. Turned out they'd forgotten about me waiting! I didn't get to talk to the doctor but I overheard her and the nurse and the doctor saying that my current amount seems to be working and so she wrote the rx with 3 refills. At my normal dosage that would take me through April... So if the tapering works I'll be all set to totally quit during our week off for spring break! I sure want this to work.
Oh...and it's capsules... so I can't break them in half. I'll have to stretch them out further and further. I did find the L - tyrosine and other supplements so I can start them this week. I sure have a headache right now.
