Any ideas how to get the cravings to stop? I am sick of feeling sick but the mental tortue is just to much. Driving me crazy! I've started cutting my doze down significantly since sunday. had full day of oxycodone on sunday monday went to a 1/4 of what I took sunday, same thing today and i'm good obviously the first 7 hours after I take my doze but the other 17 hours are just mental anguish knowing that just one pill would make life better for just a short amount of time. It's killing me, my goal is to cut this in half in a few days and then go with none. I don't know if it's the best way to do it. Mentally I can barely get through if I counnt down the hours until I can have it but that's not going to help when Ik now that I have to stoop completely. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

The agony of knowing I had access to any pills is what tortured me. The advice given is great, just jump, and get rid of all access to the pills. You will thank yourself.

Hi Messedupone.. Welcome to the forum. Staying busy I have found is the best way for me to fight cravings also photography is a big help.. Hope things are going as well as can be expected with your taper.. lesa

Hey, messedupone. What you described is the main reason most of us could not taper: it's hell. And all it does is prolong the wds and the mental agony. Rip that bandaid off now and just do it. A few days of taper is not going to help your wds, so you may as well just jump.Flush the remaining pills and just start. You will feel so empowered.  The way the cravings will stop in the long run is by getting into aftercare. The desire to use actually goes away once you're immersed in meetings.
