Please explain the mental symps or emotions during the 1st week.

I can handle the physical symptoms...it's the mental ones that kick my tail.  I'm not a big guy by any means...I weigh 190lbs, 33 inch waist, work out each morning and bench press 300lbs but these emotions have me acting like a 2 year old.  I'll start crying for no reason, think the sky is falling think my wife is going to leave me, think I'm the worst father in the world and that God hates me.  Please tell me this is normal and Im not losing my mind.

That is all normal.  By day 3 of detox my emotions were everywhere.  Mostly on the sad side and I felt the same way.  It does balance itself out though, took until around day 7.  Just know its your brain rebooting, adjusting all the chemicals up there that have been altered or rearranged for so long.  Don't give up on it and know it does get better, it won't last forever.

No you are not losing your mind!!! It is the complete opposite. Your brain Chems and so forth are trying to balance out and re-adjust from the removal of these Substances. Keep pushing forward..You will balance out your mind, body and soul in no time..

Since you are used to working out, what about adding a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio to your work out?  I think that would really help you.

Also, what you are experiencing is totally normal.  I cried at TV shows and commercials if they were said.

Boy oh boy, is that normal. You are on the famous (or infamous) detox roller coaster. And you'll be on it for weeks to come.
I've shared this story before; it sort of defines my ride on the coaster...
I'm a grown man; father of four; own my own business, etc.
On day 4 I decide that I want to get out of the house so I jump in the car and drive to get a hair cut. When I get there the shop was closed. Panic! So I get in the car, and cry like a baby all the way home. I can only imagine what the other motorists must have thought. And now I laugh about it.
So hang in there. This will be new and confusing, but it will pass. Buckle up.
