you mention that he has been in detox rehabs 3 times.  i'm not sure what you mean by that.  has he only been somewhere for a short amount of time...just to detox?  or has he ever spent any significant time in a rehab?

you also state that he has nothing but the pills.  how does he live?  where does his money come from to support his habit?

one last concern.  has your son every expressed a "desire" to get clean?

I am so sorry to hear about your son.  I agree with worries, it does sound like there are some potential problems with the tylenol, it can destory a liver if taking in high enough doses.  It does sound like there is something else going on if your son is so sick and has been admitted to the hospital so many times and I too would wonder where he is getting his supply because he would have to be taking some large doses to end up like this.  There are some medically assisted detox programs available, I went through one in VA.  They are much easier than going cold turkey - withdrawal symptoms are controlled and are completely gone  3-8 days - depending on the drugs used and the dose.  I am happy to share more about my experience if you are interested, just send me an email message.

I wish you the best for you and your son.

How much hydro does he take daily?  u may not know but if he is truly only using hydro then it sounds as if the tylenol in the pills are causing him to have liver failure..The wds u describe may be from hydro but if his habit is huge, it is almost impossible to buy that amount of hydro off the street as they range from 5-7 dollars a pill on the street

r u sure this is the only drug he takes?  He is young and most adapt to the high tylenol content and almost have a "concrete liver" meaning the liver became tolerant and adjusted to the high tylenol intake..but many do not/especially those who have any genetic or weakness of the liver in the first place

It sounds as tho this may be more than hydro/but maybe not..have u checked his arms for any track marks?  also..the "thin" term u used may point to crystal meth use or some sort of amphetamine more than hydro use

it would be good to have a drug screen done so u can find out for sure what u r dealing with..i feel ur pain..we feel our childrens pain as if it were our own
