hot sweats

I get horrible hot sweats at night while sleeping. After about a day from not having any drugs in my system (methadone, oxycotton). Its horrible, like soaking wet, sweating all over. Is this common? im trying to wean down, from 15mg a day of methadone.. used to be higher. I was major in oxycotton before and methadone actually helps me focus and not withdraw. If i can wean down to 10mg, then cold turkey, how long would with draws last? a week?

The sweating is just your body eliminating the drugs.  Skin is the largest organ of the body, and also the one most responcible for eliminating toxins.  I used to believe it waas the liver, but I read that it is the skin.

I think I have smelled pretty bad the past two weeks.  I actually do not wear deodorant while I am home, because I WANT my body to push out this stuff.  Yea, pretty gross!

You have come to a good place.  Try to get a good support system in place and be prepared to fight for your sobriety.  Keep posting and good luck to you!

Are you still using the oxy  ? If so I can not help but to wonder what you will do when you are off.. Please check into aftercare.. NA AA counseling.. any or all these would be a tremendous help in your battle against addiction.. Please keep reading reach out for support.. we have others that have come off methadone and will see your post.. I wish you all the best.. lesa
