Need a little support

I haven't been posting much because I've been working so many hours at work the past 4-5 weeks but I still come on and check on everyone. Well I had dental surgery yesterday, and its pretty painful. I have a script of 18 vicodin(my doc). I'm doing very well. I'm taking them only when I absolutely can't stand the pain and I've only taken 3 since yesterday. I just wanted to post this so I stay on track. I have 190 days clean but the 6 month mark seems to be rough for people and I'm pretty close to that. No one in my family knows. I was only on them for a few months. But i know I have the tendency to WANT them. So I need you guys for support. Nauty, cathy, sara, joann and all of my friends here, just keep me accountable. I should only need them for another 2 days.

Thanks everyone!

Hang in there Mimster.  Just remember all the hard work we all went thru to get us all here.  It will be a matter of days before you switch to ibuprofens.  Then your back on track.  This little bump doesn't even count as far as we are concerned.  We know you will do the right thing again.

Mimi,  you have been so supportive of me and your strength is so apparent!  Just the fact that you are posting is great and forcing yourself to keep in check.  Keep it up!  You are one of my inspirations!

I am glad you posted! I am in the same shoes as you honey...except it's a shoulder injury not dental. So we can keep each other accountable ok? My husband is keeping mine for me.

I know you will be fine! We will check in with each other ok!

Hugs & Love,
JoAnn

you did the right thing by posting this mimi. it's that fear of going back that will keep you in check and it's a good fear. im sorry your in pain, but nobody has to suffer. it takes a lot of strength to not abuse and that just goes to show how strong you really are. heal quick.

hi there!!! :) you can do it! heres my 2 cents...LOL... I'm still tapering at the moment, but looking down the LONG road ahead I know at some point in my life I will probably need to take pain meds for a 'reason'. we're all going to be there someday! you have done so great to be at 190 days!!!! huge congrats on that, use them only as you absolutely have to and I know you'll be ok. everyone occasionally (or for some with chronic pain, all the time) needs pain medication. I think you're doing great only taking 3 so far!!! If you were planning on abusing them you could've taken your whole scrip by now! LOL you're doing great and don't lose track of your 190 days of cleanliness and remember what it took for you to get there!!!! hope this helps a little! have a good day and we'll all be here for you :)
