Weaning off Clonazepam after a 2 week period of taking it

I've been taking Clonazepam for 2 weeks now (0.5mg - in the evening, starting 20.5.09). It seems to be doing more harm than good with my back injury and the neurological symptoms. Can I stop taking it COLD TURKEY, or do I need to taper off? And if so, what's the fastes (though safe) way to do it?
Thanks a lot!

I have quit at that dose many many times and never had a clue it could be harmful. It's always a good idea to ask your Dr. though.

Hi,
clonazepam is a semi long acting benzo, it has got a 1/2 life of 20 to 80 hours which means that it is gonna be easy to taper. Benzos can NEVER be stopped CT. However, you are taking the lowest dosage possible and for such a short period of time that I'd do a fast taper. You should ask your dr but IMHO, you could start by cutting them in 2 for a while, if you feel comfortable with it, then take one 1/2 one day and nothing the next, do that for about a week and them you'll be ready to stop.
Best of luck to you.
