Ive been on suboxone now for 1 year. Im a nurse and work on it fine. It does not show up on regular drug tests. I think sub changed my life for the better...you need to see a doctor that has special license to prescribe. But it definetly was worth it for me.
Hi! It is possible to get off methadone, I'm on day 7. If you want to get off pills, methadone will help you and it does help with pain too but it sounds like you have some serious pain. You do really need to talk to your docs because they can safely help you. The pain from methadone withdrawals is harsh, I've heard it's harder then cold turkey but I couldn't do cold turkey. So I'm just stuck with a longer withdrawal period. To fine a methadone/suboxne doc you need to find your closest segue clinic. In my Experiance, methadone doctors are VERY understanding and helpful. It is possible and you can do it, it's not easy but once your off it will feel great! Message me if u need anything.
THANKS SOO much for your help!!! Is Suboxon a posible temperary solution and what are the releaves and the side effects, and where can you get it? can I still funtion at work with it? Am I looking in the wrong direction? It has been 3 1/2 years now that I have been dealing with this, but the med problem has just been mainly in the last 6 - 8 months.
Hi there! A couple fo things. FIrst, you may want to post on the pain management forum since it sounds like you have some questions regarding how to handle the pain your still currently having. People on that forum may be better equiped to answer that.
As far as getting of the hydros RIght now, I think your best bet would be to come clean with your Dr's.The meds arent even helping with the pain and you are taking 14 a day WITH a 12 pack of beer, that is destroying your liver. If they want you to go see a pain management Dr, I would listen to them. It sounds like to me you are in need of some type of pain management. You do also need to talk to them about your addiction issues (the alcohol and hydros) because you need their help with this. Your drinking, Xanax at night and hydros throughout the day are concerning and IMO you should NOT tackle this alone! Please talk with you Dr(s) about this.
I wish you the best and I hope that you can find some relief and help for you
