Couldn't even get through day one.

I relapsed before getting through a full day. I'm so disappointed in myself, but i'm glad I got rid of the craving. I feel like I might need more professional help to quit, like rehab. I don't know. I figured I'd let you guys know. I've received nothing but amazing support so far, and I like being able to talk to other people who know exactly what i'm going through. And when I had the pills, I did debate for several hours before taking them. I wish I had just thrown them away.

Don't be judgmental of yourself--get back up, dust yourself off, and start again. Think of a world heavyweight boxing match. How many fights in the entire history of organized boxing began and ended with a single KO punch? I bet you could count them on one hand if they even existed! Well, that's like addicts, too---you gotta keep slugging it out. I bet less than two in a hundred quit cold and never return--and you know they get tempted, that's human nature. So c'mon, try again. We are here for you.
While I'm on this boxing kick, I highly recommend you--and anyone else doubting themselves---to watch the original "Rocky" from 1975. It's a natural high watching this great story, and very inspirational to anyone facing a hard situation. Did you know Sylvester Stallone wrote the "Rocky" screenplay when he was nearly destitute? He had less than $100 to his name. So it's a real-life triumph as well. Hang in there, sweetie! *hums Rocky theme*

I doubt anyone gets it the first time unless they were never really addicted in the first place. I would not worry about slipping, just pick up where you left off-no biggie.  But -IMHO- I really think you will have to get rid of all of your pills. Throw them away or slowly taper till they are all gone but make sure you don't have any in your house. I am not sure if it's the B or C vitamins, but those do seem to reduce cravings for me.  If you can't find l-tyrosine locally, Amazon has it.

You can do this!!! One hour at a time was all I could handle for the first few days. Do you have any pills left in the house?
Take the Vitamins like they are your pills...
Let's us know how it's going tomorrow!

Hi there!! Stop beating yourself up over this...you stumbled but as an African proverb says,"It's not where you fell but where you slipped"...so what were your triggers, why do you think you used?Figure those things out and you've got half the battle. Yes,throw away your dealers numbers, flush any other pills you may have. And,I don't need to tell you this, but you certainly are in the right place..we're all here for you and have all been there before. I've relapsed a few times, and yes,I beat myself up a bit until I realized that, guess what?It happens. It happens to the best of us. So you start over again, tomorrow.Don't put so much pressure on yourself either. Work on getting through 1 hour at a time, first. Definately get some aftercare,in the form of treatment (counsellor,NA meetings) or even rehab if you feel like you need to go that route. It takes a lot of strength to admit that you are an addict-hell,it took me almost 3 years to admit that I was an addict. And once I did that,I felt so free.It made quitting almost easier for me.
We have faith in you and know that you CAN do this. STAY STRONG and keep your guard up...post when you are craving, leave messages to those who have helped you,or that you just wnat to talk to.We're all here to help;we've all been there before and are here for you!!Good luck to you and keep us posted!!~A

You need a solid plan! Throw away dealers numbers, get in NA or a counsellor or some kind of aftercare - no one can do this alone, get your Thomas Recipe stuff and buckle down. It'll be hard but a few days to a week of feeling bad for your freedom and a new lease on life is a great tradeoff.

Don't give up!! Never give up. I doubt anyone here nailed it on thier first try. Just start fresh and learn from this. Get rid of dealers, ppl who use and any other temptations and you can do this!!

It sometimes takes more than one time to quit.  Did you try to use any of the suggestions like the Thomas Recipe?  It really helped me kick it.  I am still struggling..but each hour is one hour clean!  Don't give up.  I am sure others with more experience will chime in!
