I dont suggest you take tramadol at all .I am glad you have taken them before and not had a problem but I can assure you they are hilghy addicting . how much sub are you on a day ?.
I take an 8mg. tablet in the morning & then another one at 2pm... So 16mg a day I guess? lol
Please no, don't take Tramadol at all. It is a very dangerous, very addictive drug with some of the worst withdrawals of any drug. And you are on 16mg of Sub per day? Without a doubt, don't take the Tramadol. Really, do yourself a favor and never touch it. And get off the sub as fast as you can.
It's always better to be Clean and Free. I can't believe there are so many doctors putting people on 16 mg of Sub per day. That sounds crazy to me. But I have no experience with Sub, I have never taken it. But it still sounds like a Whole Lot. I heard 2-4 mg per day is more like it.
me,
I think part of the problem is that your dosage is awfully high I bet if you cut it down some your headaches will disapper
ohhh also tramadol can cause some nasty rebound headaches and you don't need to end up feeling worse then better
THANKS YOU GUYS!!!! :o)
I'll wait it out & try to feel better !
I get some real nasty headaches when I withdrawal from Tramadol. That's one of the worst parts for me. I don't know if you took any Tramadol, but if you did, that could very well be part of it. I just really hope you come down to 2-4 mg of sub per day. I worry a little about you. You can do it, stay strong.
HEY! What about MAXALT ? It's a Migraine Med. Is it ok w/ Sub?
Try laying on your back and relaxing every muscle in your head. Try to get to the point to where your eye lashes are not moving at all. You have to relax.
tramadol is garbage, your doc is an idiot. The headaches are not related to either the opioid buprenorphine or anything else you are doing. If they continue, see a doc, look for a neurological cause.

16 mg of sub is a tremendous amount for a hydro habit....i guess someone taking 300 mg plus could tolerate that amount of sub...dont know...just an awful lot of a stronger drug than hydro..i am sure u have researched this and know what u r doing...16 mg of sub is equivelent to well over 300 mg of hydro....be sure u r moving forward....
With Suboxone, the "less is more" rule is very accurate. I currently take 4mg every other day, started at 8mg. Allot of people have had greater success with not getting headaches and tiredness with smaller doses.
And STOP taking the Tramadol. I am in treatment with someone who is on Sub for Tramadol addiction. It is a synthetic drug that mimics opiates, so many doctors say it is not addictive, but they are dead wrong.I took it from my doctor and it is only a part of the reason I am now in Suboxone treatment.
this is day 6 or 7 on the sub, 16mg also, and i have pounding killer headaches, but take heed and listen to these fine people here as they have suggested that 16 mg is way toooooooooo much sub to be taken, i've cut back to 6mg at 10pm & another 4 or 6mg at 10-11am, still have the headaches and the nausia, but i'm gonna cut back more of the sub, i'm just getting over a hydro addiction, and now i certainly dont need a subox addiction !!!
The most reported side effect of suboxone in higher dosages is headaches. Ive been on sub for over 3months now and have had some severe headaches, which most likely is from the buprenorphine. I would seriously consider tapering your sub dose down considerably, to avoid the some of the headaches and for other obvious reasons. Suboxone is very strong, much stronger than most people are made aware of, to quote someone else "less is more" is so true. Whenever you do get to that lower dose hopefully the headaches will decrease for you. Keep posting and researching about Sub, it can and will only benefit you in the long run. Wish you all the best, take care.
OMG...what is wrong with these doctors...My doctor said Tramodal is not addicitive. Im glad I didnt let her give me a script. I may need a different doctor. I had a few Trams someone gave me a while back and took one the other day. I am on day 3 off the Vicodin. I don't understand how Tramadol can be addictive...it didn't seem to do anything except give me a headache later on. Im dumping the Tramadol. Wow..I don't understand why after I tell my doctor I want to be OFF the opiates.. she tells me how to wean down safely and recomends I could take a tramadol a day.
