Well congrats on day 12! Yes, the lethargy is normal. I'm not sure how long you were using, but we used and abused our bodies for so long that it takes some time to get back to normal. Exercise will help! I know it sounds dumb if you have no energy, but once you get moving, a walk, run, anything, you will see it really does help. Brain foods, I think they have an article in the Health Pages about food that helps repair the brain. A lot of foods come with natural energy sources. Vitamins may help too. But you will get there and you are doing great!
Thank you for the encouragement! I fear caving, just because I don't know how long I can tolerate the fatigue, it is so overwhelming. I am all but useless to my family right now, and it is so hard to get off the couch!
Take care,
Shelli
Hey: Your post sounded so much like me I went back to some of my old posts. Thought you might find some solice in them. There are 3 entries from 10, 15, and 51 days clean. Hang in there!!
All: The fatigue is trying my patience. Its been 10 days. Withdrawal is over. Been through some hardcore W/Ds in the past from oxy, methadone, morphine, etc abuse. I can get up and go to work now and I'm committed to ending this madness.
All is still good. Still on track. Starting to feel GREAT. 15 days now.
Today was my first "normal" day since I quit. Mowed the lawn as soon as I got home from work last night. Then went through all my hiking gear for a 4 day trip to a cabin in the Colville Nat Forest. Starting to feel like a normal person again. Sometimes I wondered if it would ever happen! I owe much to the community here that assured me that things would return to normal and that the effort to get clean was more than worth it. YOU WERE SO RIGHT. THANKS! Now I continue on the path you've helped me find. 51 days as a free man
I'm now close to 3 months clean. You can be there too if that's what you choose for yourself.
