Geez!! Let's not get all negative here...
I'm with IBK...this is a very special time. I learned a long time ago to take the commercials out of this holiday and focus on the important things...I keep it simple and lovely and it's stress free for me! My child receives one gift only(from me). The adults in my life receive my love and delicious food. I enjoy the Season and one of the miracles is that I enjoy it without drugs of any kind.
"Wanna"~ We'll be here when it's time to let the pills go...you can do it!!
Merry Christmas!
Just keep it simple and count your blessings.. Christmas is as stressful as we make it If you feel it is too complicated try not to live up to others expectations but be true to yourself :) I'm sorry to read you are in pain and send a prayer that your back gets corrected and the pain becomes bearable to where you are confident you can make the jump.. Many have become addicted through prescription drugs due to injury and many have found there way out again I have confidence you will also so be kind to yourself ok.. Merry Christmas back to you and yours.. lesa
Hollidays are not tough, that would be like calling my pitbulls "a little fiesty". Holidays are the WORSE. So many triggers! Stress, money, expectations, having to be surrounded by people you don't like. Man it's a surprise we don't all jump off the wagon this time of year. And of all times I pick to quit mine had to be two weeks ago lol! So I'm in the middle of trying to recover during this time. We all deserve medals for making it through this time of yeAr. Oh well whatever don't kill you right!
I keep telling myself that.
Morning,
I haven't been on too much lately but I thought I wrote somewhere that you had gone off the pills, is that correct? Now you are tapering? I do remember that you are having surgery soon and hopefully that will fix the problem and you can get relief without the use of pain medication.
I agree, the holidays can be a difficult time and that is why you need to stay positive. Focus on the good things and your life and be grateful for the things you have, not the things you don't have. For me, tonight is a magical night and I find comfort in being with close friends and family celebrating the miracle.
Please keep your chin up and stay on track. Merry Christmas!
P.S. Weren't you looking into some meetings at either NA or AA? How did that work out for you?
