sitting in the waiting room of detox... so scared

Just need some support I guess. Couldn't do the suboxone anymore, was taking too much, need to be done!!! Please give me some encouragement. I know I won't use once withdrawal isnt't an issue. It's always been a constant fear of the withdrawal. And it all started with a gall bladder attack. 2 years later I've probably eaten 10,000 hydrocodone. Was steady eating 40 a day, 15 at the very least. Looking so much forward to having money and not constantly be looking for pills! Freedom is right around the corner

I hate to just repeat what avisg said above but I think aftercare(NA or regular addiction counseling or some kind of regular meetings) is really key.  Like avisg says while you're going through the wd's they're so cruddy that it's easy to feel like you'll never use again.  The tougher part for many(if not most) people comes once the wd's are gone.

Don't be scared of the wd's.  Very often the fear of the wd's is much worse than the actual withdrawal symtoms.  You can get through the wd's.  You're gonna feel sick and probably depressed, anxious etc for 10-14 days.  By the fourth or fifth day you'll be on the downhill side and things will start to feel noticeably better each day.  By the 10th day things will be so much better that you may not be feeling any physical wd's at all.  If you still are they'll be gone very shortly after that.

Keep coming here and keep posting and reading posts.  It's been very helpful to me.

What are they going to  detox you with ...Make sure whatever they do they help set you up with a good aftercare program and one ever plans to use again when they are in wd but its not that easy that is why its so important to get a program set up
