methadone....how to stop???

How does one come off of methadone by themself?

I think the comments thus far speak for themselves.  Can you give us an idea of how much you've been taking and if it has been daily?  Keep in mind that after taking a substance with a 24 hour half life the amount of the drug in your system about doubles (do the math).  Let us know so we can be more help.

That was a goo idea!  This person is going to try to cold turkey methadone BY HIMSELF!  Rest assured - he will reach a point where he wants to die.  Atleast get some detox meds (ativan, phenobarb, clonidine)

I've never heard anyone mention the firearms thing before but that is something I did. Before I started I took all my guns to a friends house and he locked them up in his shed.

YOU DONT!!!  Better get some medical advice.  If your gonna try c/t, remove any firearms from your residence befor you start.

Get away from any source of methadone or heroin (or any other opiate). I moved to a
little island and did it there with lots of weed, beer and love from my girlfriend. But I
only jumped off 20mls, if you are doing more than that every day I would advise tapering
down to 20 and then quitting.
It ain't easy BUT YOU CAN do it.....

If I were you I would tell the doc or clinic that you go to that you want to come off Methadone can be very dangerous to come off of cold turkey so if I were you I would taper off this. I am also on methadone and have been for little over 2 yrs Message me if you would like help what I can Holliee
