Lack of Energy

I'm on day 8 of Norco withdrawal and feel ok.  Not great, but ok.  I hear a lot of people talk about not having any energy during this process.  Does anyone have any recommendations as to how to get it back?  A lot of coffee?  Energy drinks?  I don't know if this route is a good idea right away or not.  I'm looking for opinions.  I haven't tried anything since I quit.  I take NOTHING but the anti-depressants prescribed and a ton a vitamins.

Hey man, just wanted to let you know that I think it is awesome that you have been clean this many days.  I am still battling with a low regiment taper but thats just me.  I know what you mean about wanting it to just all be in the past already.  Once time not too long ago I detoxed c/t from oxy's(ouch) and had no forum like this, no supplements, nothing to help.  I thought I was going to die. When day 5 came, that was the first day I started to have that (normal) feeling again. Then the nest few days were SO GREAT because I was comparing them to the first 4-5 I guess.  Then my pain was really bad and all my feelings came back along with the pain.  I stayed clean for 3 months that time before relapsing.  When I got to the point where I was like" ok this is uhh i forgot how many days" that was great.

I CANT WAIT FOR THIS TO BE OVER

YOU ARE AWESOME MAN

YOU CAN STICK WITH THIS

YOU WILL BEAT THIS

IT WILL BE JUST "YOUR PAST"

I to have been I waist of flesh this is day 9. I went to work today to help my employees, I only put three hours in but felt a huge spark of energy. I also ditched the Xanax today, without my docs approval.  He did admit it will tire u out mostly if you sit or relax while on it. He also tried giving a 9 month regiment of some new antidepressant. I passed, but the script is there if I need it. I also picked up I weight gainer with lots of protien n vitamans. I drink it after every meal. Stay away from those energy drinks u will just crash. Then feel to tired to make it the whole day. I also droped the Valium to sleep n went with melotonin is promotes a natural sleep. Valium n lunasta do not let ur mind get the amount of rem cycles u need to feel rested, there for ur tired the next day. This is still early like ur reading from everyone. But I feel much better being of all the meds. I hope it lasts I will post if it doesn't. I Agee with NIC on exercise do very little at this stage. I had trouble on the treadmill I just bought, but I know baby steps

try to be patient hun... i know, easy for me to say. but it will come back.. it hasn't been that long.

one thing that helped me was taking the amino acids that are listed in The Mood Cure (a book) in the chapter about which ones to take after opiate addiction... they helped ALOT.

if you can't get the book to get the info, please feel free to PM me and I will list them out for you.

good luck..

Thanks for responding.  I've always been a mover, so being this depressed has been really tough.  What cantthink said is what I'm afraid of; taking in too much stimulant and get the anxiety going worse than it is.  I guess I'm just ready to have my life back with no limitations.  But it's my own damn fault in the 1st place, right?  I am ok to exercise, and I did on day 1 and hit the weights hard.  BIG mistake.  I was sore for 5 days!!  I need to walk, and I do, but  I guess I'm just trying to steal time, ya know?  Get this whole thing into my past and leave it there.  I'm getting impatient.

R U OK to exercise? Have a dog you can walk?  I and what I heard from others is that sweating out the toxins help...makes me hungry too and with more food, more calories burned, I believe your body can get back to normal faster...I'm 7 days clean averaging 6-8 hours of wicked dream sleep :-) but hey, at least it's sleep and I can function.

Here's a disclaimer...I am definitly no doc but after reading the posts here, I gathered some really good ideas and am trying some...listening to my body is numer one; refusing to let my mind play tricks is 1.1 ;-)

Good Luck,

Peace,

Nick
