"as for the low dose of methadone not showing up in a u/a it not all that uncommon I know several members that have lost there take home privileges from the clinic from that happening "
Please explain for the ignorant (me): is this loss of privileges because they think you must be selling it? Otherwise, it seems as though it would be a good thing.
don't worry about the pee test....I am one of those weirdos too that can down a half a bottle of Percs or Norcos the night before and pee clean the next day............I have NO idea why.....something about our metabolism or ????? pee tests are not perfect....don't spend too much time looking that gift horse in the mouth....
I'd get in to see the Doc ASAP and let them know about the breathing difficulties.....it's nothing to mess around with. Like gnarly said...breathing problems can be progressive and COPD isn't anything to mess around with.....remember, methadone has a really long half life and sometime it takes a day or more for the WD's to hit....plus, you are still taking a narcotic so that is going to help keep the WD's down also........Percs are their own demons (as stated above)......and my personal opinoin is methadone is NOT a good drug for pain (just my opinion)....so, please go see the doctor. A 911 call at 3 a.m is not how you want to 'deal' with your lowered breathing abilities-trust me-I'm an EMT and a hypoxic (low O2) seisure is a terrible thing to witness. I've seen a lot of things in the ambulance, but that one sticks with me in my nightmares...I'm not kidding. I'm not trying to scare you - just want you to get some help. I think you should give the no narcotics thing a shot and see how your pain level shakes out and take care of yourself!!!
Stay strong. Good job on getting off the Methadone.......I vote you kick the opiate habit before it helps you kick the breathing habit...
Good luck,
Greatgreebo
HI James good to see you post....well you tapered off the methadone to do as much damage control as possible ....im happy to here you made the jump...the percs will keep the withdrawals off ya but they got a vice of vthere own...its real ez to become cross addicted and I dont believe in substituting one narcotic for another when trying to detox...you really need to purge your body of everything and just get it over with...as for the breathing I think you should be especially careful with any narcotic they all cause reduced respiration some more then others and with your breathing problems you cant be gambling with them
a lot of breathing disorders are progressive and what might have been ok a few yrs ago might not be anymore...as for the low dose of methadone not showing up in a u/a it not all that uncommon I know several members that have lost there take home privileges from the clinic from that happening I think you best bet here would be to dry yourself out for a few weeks and get a base line of just how bad your pain really is you may find out like me and several other members that your pain can be managed without narcotic I wish you the best James good luck and God bless......Gnarly
