pregant and in pain

hi there...I am 6a weeks pregnant and have a chronic pain disease. I live in pain almost all the time. o have weaned off my neurontin to get pregnant but still am taking oxycodone for pain..probably 60 mg/ day. I don't want to hurt the baby but really suffer alot with pain. I know the risks of an opiate addicted baby. does anyone have a similar experience w chronic pain and pregnancy.  I feel so guilty for taking these meds. also does anyone know when u can get off of them and the baby not suffer withdrawal? ?? help!!

Just speak2ur ob.I took lortab though almost all of my pregnancy(under the caes of my ob working w/my pm doctor).Its very common.I couldnt take codiene Im allergic.I was weaned off.I did get induced2weeks early because of how BIG he was so I was only off completely like3weeks(n bed those3weeks).Dont panick.Ur obgyn will give u a plan.I was also using protection like a previous poster When I got pregnant.Ive heard of a bunch of women prescibed lortab during pregnancy for pain from the pregnancy itself.My son was9lb11oz2weeks early,absolutely perfect.VERY BRIGHT on Christmas eve he will be 3.Hes amazing.Congratulations on the great news.DONT REDUCE OR QUIT get instructions from ur doctor.It can cause a miscarraige.

Please tell your ob they can help you so much ! I don't have chronic pain but I have stupidity of the brain and skipped while 30 weeks I used for a week and came clean to my ob she helped me so much!! Please get te help u need for you and baby.

If you were actively trying to here pregnant where you would wean off nurontin why wouldn't you the oxy, with your doctors help? U have chronic pain plus frequent migraines. I quit vicodin at 9 wks and am now almost 16 wks.  I found out at 2 wks pregnant that no, condoms don't always work! You really need to work with your Dr. Too much pain puts stress on baby, but the minimum pain meds to get through is best for baby, but Donne with supervision of Dr. I don't take anything,but have had to go to er for shot due to a 8 day long peek-a-boo migraine. ( came and went, but mostly stayed.  They were angry that i waitd so long to het a shot, cuz stress on baby )  i will say again u need your dr.

I have personally know a few women who have taken opiates and even suboxone while pregnant and the baby suffered severe consequences. If you take any of these prescriptions while pregnant,you're baby will be addicted when they are born. They are will be affected by this use of drugs as well,no matter what anyone says I have witnessed it multiple times where I am from. All the babies I've seen like this have had to also take small doses of methadone for a while after they are born,and when the baby comes out you will most likely think it is perfect but the usage of these medications will affect them long term as well,autism,ADHD,and just an overall problem with behavior and social interactions. I had an opiate problem for years but it is totally irresponsible to get pregnant while on them. And you said you tried to get pregnant well what you should've tried to do was get off drugs before you even conceived. And probably been on birth control or used a condom.

Your OB is aware of this right?  We have some moms who have taken pain meds thru out their pregnancy and things have worked out.  There is one lady who has a journal about meds and pregnancy.  I will go and find her profile.....
