Hello all, after finding myself in a situation ive stumbled upon this website, my concerns are as follow. I found out 2 weeks ago that I was pregnant the problem is i have a back problem which im prescribe lortab 7.5 for pain. The first five weeks i was pregnant (and didnt know) i was taking 1 7.5 lortab a day (sometimes 2) if pain was bad. IM so worried that i have done something to my baby. has anyone ever been thru the same or no anything about this...Thank you all for your time

I would suggest you go to the chronic pain forum and pain mgmt forum. it seems to me like your problem is related to chronic pain.

I was under the care of a high risk OBGYN and pain mgmt and took norco for about 1/2 my pregnancy (1x4 hrs... 10mghydro/325 tylenol) and then was on oxycodone near the end as my pain got worse. I have a back problem w/chronic pain also.

the only real risks of taking an opiate while preggo is the baby can become addicted and need to be weaned . make sure your doctor doesn't just stop the medicine because withdrawals in you are not good for baby.

the other risk of taking opiates while preggo is if you take them near the time of birth because your baby can be born with depressed breathing and need oxygen.

my little guy Mason is healthy and fine. he didn't have w/d and is a big chunkybutt

I think bubs will be fine. However you should discuss other safer non narcotic options for pain relief with your doctor. You are on a very low dose and I highly doubt you have anything to worry about but your doctor is the best person to voice your concerns to. Congratulations and best wishes for s happy and healthy pregnancy.

You should be fine, and your baby should be fine too!  You must talk to your OB doc and just let him/her know about it.  You won't be judged and it is better to just be upfront!

Best wishes with your pregnancy!

hello and welcome to this forum.  You found the best place for some answers here.  I don't really know about pregnancy and opiates, but lots of others do.  Seems like you take your meds as prescribed and not abuse them.  That's good!  There wil be other answers here, just give it some time okay?  Saturday night, people here do other things, busy day.
Hang in there :)
