I just want to thank the people on this forum who have stuck around after being clean for so long and keep helping all of us who are getting clean and struggling to stay clean.
I know nobody gets paid for this and that you are just doing it out of the kindness of your hearts.  You are doing it daily and it must get so frustrating and repetitive for you but I hope the satisfaction that you are saving lives is payback enough for all of you.
You also seem to take a lot of criticism but hopefully you understand you are dealing with addicts and sometimes it takes a long time to get things through our heads.  Some of us have to do it the hard way no matter how many times you tell us.
I have over reacted to advice at times and truly hope that nobody takes it personally and just realizes that I am a struggling addict looking for an easy way out sometimes.
I have learned so much from all of you and try to help with what I know.
Please stay with us and know that you are saving lives.  Thanks so much.

I agree 100% with pat1956100.  I was so encouraged with the very helpful responses I have received and others have received.  I would not be feeling as great as I do today without everyone's help.  Thanks all for what you do!

You all help us more then you realize so I say Thank you to all of you !! Our struggles are shared struggles and in sharing we heal and grow.. I owe my life to you all and there really is no way to properly Thank you but stick around and help/support where I can.  It is not just the old timers it is all of us that make this forum work.. lol, gee, I wasn't fishing, honest.  Nope, I am not even in your league but I hope to be some day.  I am still struggling and I think it's the people who have the clean time and still take the time to check on us so often and repeat the same advice over and over.  You recognize our fears and our problems and try to help us even when we aren't helping ourselves.
I am so sorry for the abuse some of you have to take because we refuse to listen.  Yes it sometimes may come across harsh but that's what some of us need.  We may keep fooling ourselves but we can't fool people who have been through it time and time again. Everyone's heart is in the right place and you are trying to save us from the pain that you have experienced.  I thank you all again.

"You've got to give away to keep it". That saying was taught to me early on and I never forgot it and I never let it stand in my way of reaching out. EVERYONE here helps keep me to stay clean no matter how much time you have. So as you are thanking some of the older members (and yes, I AM old), I need to thank all of you as well. IBKleen is correct. Although I don't have as much time as some, my days of detox hell are months behind me, thank goodness. I still remember, but when I read a desperate post from someone just starting their journey, that really brings clarity to the hellish process. I remember, which helps me stay on the path. Thanks to the new folks who are brave enough to post, and are honest enough to tell complete strangers the details of their struggle.
