HELP

I just found out that I am 9 weeks pregnant and had no idea as I have a condition called endometriosis which results in irregular periods. For the past week I have been smoking meth. I have obviously stopped completely but am really worried that ive caused damaged to my baby. I would have smoked meth from 8-9 weeks. Is my baby ok

if you have stopped im sure everything is fine, there are many MANY babies born very healthy that were exposed the whole pregnancy. I understand your worry, i really do. Just talk to your dr. about it, good job on stopping.:)

Please talk with your OB about this.  Have you had trouble with drugs for awhile?

Hi, we are not doctors. However, I once heard an OBGYN say that the body is very intelligent in the early weeks of pregnancy in that if it detects the fetus is not viable it will usually discard it (miscarriage) Personally, I don't really think it is likely that you caused damage so early on. You quit and I applaud you for that. Please cut off all of your sources and disconnect from all drug users. This is not only to insure you stay sober but to make sure that you have the most suitable healthy environment for your infant.   Some people are on the fence as to whether or not to openly discuss your situation with an OBGYN. If it was me, I would engage in an open and honest dialogue with your OBGYN. You can call a local addictions clinic or rehab facility and request a referral to an OBGYN who has experience in this area (and less likely to judge and instead be supportive)

Congrats on your pregnancy and sobriety! Its amazing how little lives tend to help us straighten ours out :) You will love momma hood

Hi there
None of us are doctors here so we really can't tell you.  The best thing to do is to be honest with your doctor.  He will probably admire your honesty and be happy that you have quit.
We have had many pregnant moms on this forum who have tapered off pills slowly and had no problems with their pregnancies and were so relieved after telling their doctors.
Please know that doctors have heard it all and they aren't there to judge you but to help you.
The best thing for you is not to worry.  You don't need the stress right now.
Being honest with your doctor will be a huge relief.
Please let us know how you make out.
