how i beat the phsical side of codeine/tramadol addiction

Following my last post id like to offer my experiences on what i did to help with the physical withdrawls.

The physical symptoms didnt really start till day 2.

I awoke in the morning, and usually the first thought was "how am i going to obtain my fix for this morning" but this question wasnt even dignified with an answer...you cant take painkillers and stop taking painkillers at the same time...your 2 days in...that was it one nil to me....i was ok ish till about 11pm then hell arrived!!!

Went to bed,lay there sweating,uncomfortable,restless/sore legs/runny nose/back cramps/headache...oh i thought id contracted some genetically modified foreign flu,but i was soon to be met with a bigger foe.....INSOMNIA!!!!

Up and down the stairs, out for a walk, back into bed..back out...tv on....back to bed...back up go on pc...whats that noise?? oh my kids are up...the time? 06:30am...time to (get up)

Day 3..

Awoke from my daydream to discover i was sweating and freezing at the same time...went for a walk...came home sat down...back up..think i';ll tidy the house....10pm comes bedtime....10:40 back up...i know this is bad but i can do this i told myself...no point going back now...i'd have to wait another 3 days to be back where i am now...no chance...not going thru this again..up and down all night..discovered reading is helping me take my mind off the fact im gagging for a sleep   BANG just had a buzz when i reminded myself of the position i was in...id never come this far in 6 years...new territory for me....cant be doing with this insomnia though...consider sleeping pills..buy otc ones recommded dose is one...3 pills later they land in the garbage, which im now taking out fr the binmen who are here to empty it...07:20AM.

This continued for 2 weeks every night..some nights i wouldnt sleep at all...others i would snatch the odd 20 minutes...
Began exercising in the morning, nothing too strenuous...stretching deffinently helped the back and leg pains...drank plenty of water...constantly listened to tony robbins...keeping focused...wrote down list of ways to get myself relaxed....lists of jobs i could do when i was wondering about in a daze at 2am...

Week 4....i feel amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i will never go down that road ever again!!!!!!!

Thank you for your post.  My own experiences are still very fresh in memory and lingering but this post is a reminder that we all experience similar suffering in fighting our addiction.  Congrats on 4 weeks!
