even the bad, bad nightmares are better than smoking pot honey. once you are awake you should tell yourself it is just a ngihtmare and withdrawal symptom and you should start calming yourself down and soothing yourself down back to sleep again. it must be a dread going to bed knowing whats going to happen.i know it sounds corny but a goodcup of cocoa before bed can ease and also chamomile tea is a super string relaxant. hypnotherapy tapes can get your brain in a better frame but essentially its a withdrawal and it will go- its just taking weeks for the pot to go out of your system-dont go back to it- talk to your doctor and if he/she doesnt help change to a good one, they can help, worse comes to worse they can give you somthing. but overall in balance i think the nightmares is the lesser of 2 evils by far so try not to worry.
It seems that no matter what drug we used, most of us go through the nightmares after quitting. Around a month clean i started having dreams so real i would wake up thinking I had used, also just weird scary dreams that made me not want to sleep. Almost all times they will ease up, but i still have the odd drug dream. I do think it's part of the process and all the changes we go through in recovery. They really suck, but I bet they will start to diminish soon. Congrats on 6 weeks clean.
have you been through a bad experience in the past? something that may have caused pts dreams?
I do have experience w/the nightmares during detox, but not w/pot...w/pills.
Yes, they seemed to be so real.....you could swear you were awake & not dreaming.
Too scared to fall back asleep....Freddie might visit you again.
You're not alone.
Best Wishes.
