The first time I got off tabs I did it thru dr.he got out a calculator and gave me a script and a plan on paper.I was done in 4 weeks. This time i did it wrong.I am now tapering off a 2 year stint at methadone clinic.be patient with yourself. That has been the hardest thing for me.I hate myself for doing this yet again.20 years on speed clean 17 years,8 years on tabs now 2 on methadone..what a ride.good luck.Take it one day at a time.
If the doctor thinks you can handle it then it should be okay. It's up to you... You don't have to use it. Are you tapering off now?
He did prescribe the clonidine but my blood pressure is always low so I a nervous to take it
I think the advice the doctor gave you is about the best. Nothing about it is easy but you do have to go through it if you don't want or need to take the pills anymore.
Ask your doctor for some clonidine. It's a BP med that really helps with withdrawal symptoms and I'm sure he's heard of it.
How long have you been taking Hydrocodone?
Ask him for a good solid taper plan---on paper. Taper as low as you can and get off. You will experience some discomfort even with tapering but it will be minimal. Let us know how you are doing.
they dont understand at all and if n e thing he wants u to not quit, why u ask ......im sure u have decent ins. and he looks forward to getttin your money every month.....nowadays there are plenty of good drs out there and they wont prescribe you any thing unless your arm is falling off but dont be fooled there are many many more that cater 2 addicts like us we may or may not have even been a addict b4 u met him (the dr) but they will get get ya hooked
