Tappering just means that you gradually reduce ur dose until you don't take them anymore. I an obsessive cumplusive and have anxiety and panic disorders which my dr knew about. He have me exactly what I had been taking for the 1st 2 weeks, then I had to go back and see him. Then I dropped a pill and did that till my body got used to it and so forth. I refused to go on methedone and my tapper lasted a long time b/c of the other issues. You can do it yourself by really wanting to. If you really want another pill, see if you can wait 30 minutes. It's not easy but you can do it.
I should also say that I got addicted again and went back to my dr who did another taper program for me, but told me if I used again I'd be on my own. Of course I'm using again and am on my own.
Getting rid of the pills is really really hard and withdrawl ***** but that's not the hard part believe it or not. We all need to find some aftercare so we don't use again (like me).
Personally, I would not go on methadone. There are too many nightmare stories here, of those trying to get off of it. Coming 'clean' to your Dr is a good idea. It will help you not to use them to get more pills.
thank you for responding, so basicall just tell my DR
im an addict. everyone on here talks about tapper or tappering. im not familiar of what exactly it is? sorry for being a little dumb but u mind explaining it. thanx
I told my dr. and he gave me a script and a tapper program. I had to sign a drug contract saying that I wouldn't sell my pills or buy or take pills other than what was prescribed. I also had to go for random drug screening.
Most dr.'s will put you on methedone, it just depends on the doc.
