need advice

3 years ago I was injured and on 6 norco's a day for about a year. I have two small children and wasn't able to deal with withdrawls. I didn't want to take nocos or any other medIcation anymore and seeked the helP of a pain management doctor. Little did I know what suboxone was, and that it was again addictive and now currently been on it for 3 yrs come October. I only take half of a 2mg a day, and I'm sick of taking them and depending on taking them to get out of bed in the morning. I don't want them anymore and I want to be free of Meds for good. Never taken drugs my whole life. Need help and advice on how to stop..what can and should I do!!! Help!!

I would definately go with susans stategy!!! Tapering yourself off the subs, is going to have the least amount of withdrawl symptoms for you & having small children, you need to be able to function & be as normal as possible for them!! They say the time frame for tapering, is cutting your dose down every 3 days, for this is the amount of time it takes for your body to adjust to the smaller dose. If it takes getting down to only crumbs of the med, then do it!!! It will definately be worth it!! You may experience some mild withdrawl symptoms such as...achy, restless legs-Hylands restful legs is WONDERFUL for this!!! Diarrhea-Immodium Immodium Immodium, will take care of that for ya & don't be afraid to take too much!! You won't OD on Immodium :) Lack of energy-L Tyrosine is wonderful for this!!! I believe a bottle of 500 mg caps says to take 2 a day. But you can take up to 4, making it 2000 mg a day, adjust as needed!! Good Luck to you & keep us posted!!! God Bless :)

I got help for lortab addiction, was given suboxone and weaned myself off.I was only them for a little over a month.they had me taking 8 mg twice a day,the next week I cut the dosage in half.third week I did the same but only took it every other day.Got off after a month,I was on 1 mg the 4th week,at the end I just took tiny crumbs every other day, then stopped.
I understand you've been on them a long time but it's doable.Good luck!

Have you spoken to your pain management doctor about it? Could they wean you off of it?
