Just had a random drug test ..yikes

Well I got selected for the random and certainly have tramadol (took 4 at about 7:30 am and took the test about 10:00) in my system and have a perscription and since I am doing the taper have not exceeded the limit of 8 per day so I am hoping everything will be fine.Yesterday I took 4 inthe am and 4 in the pm and found two extra shortly thereafter so had 6 at about 5pm and no more until this morning.  I also pee alot more than the average person so hopefully I should be fine.  I see no reason to panic at this point nothing I can do about it.  I suppose they got me at a pretty good time It could have been alot worse. I guess I exceeded my script by taking those 2 extra yesterday but I am in range today and have no other drugs in my system and the script clearly says 8 max a day and I haven't exceeded that yet. The lab will call me for my script # I guess and as long as I have one I should be ok...I hope.  I knew this day would come some day.  What do u think???

You should be fine b/c you have script.
It is just a bit nerving when you get popped for a urine.
You aren't guilty of anything.

Besides I don't believe they can tell how much you took just that it is there.
I have seen allot of posts about tramadol but I don't know what it is.
Is it a narcotic?
I have never met anyone on it except in this forum.

It is apparently not a true narcotic but still some type of it I know they screen for those w/out a script and those who exceed their script levels so I am hoping I am going to be fine I only overdid it w/ 2 pills yesterday and peed about 5 times (at l;east ) during the nite not to meantion latnite and this am so those two shouldn't count for much...I hope:) Could be worse normally I woul have taken about 10 by this time and up to 20 the day before and possibly had some lortab too! so all in all I guess I am luckier than I could have been.

It does not sound like you are really trying to quit. Maybe I am misreading this: "normally I woul have taken about 10 by this time and up to 20 the day before and possibly had some lortab too!" Did you mean before you started tapering? I hope so. One of our addict tricks is to think we are doing fine when we really aren't.
Glad things went OK with the test. Pretty soon, you won't have to worry about them at all.

Are you sure you weren't expecting this.  Tapering isn't plomping down four in a dosage.  Your gonna have a tough time with that one.

A drug test does not tell how many pills you take......as long as you have a prescription. You "shuld" be fine.

Whoa , Now im guilty of not reading the whole post forgive me im still all crappy from surgery. You took 4 at once? thats not trying to stop if you ask me ? I have taken them for 4 years and know you are only supposed to take 2 at a time. Even though you are taking the 6 a day which they say is fine 4 at a time isnt. I see that you have tapered down and please keep fighting to do so,

I just started it today was suppose to start tomarrow and yes I meant the 20 pills and lortab BEFORE the taper It is hard for me to remember to take one each hour and I find If I take 4 in the am I feel fine (no high at at all )until the next (last dose) in the pm so I am going to slowly lower the dosage a 1/2 pill at a time after 5 days.  So I am no longer getting a high but keeping it under control.  I could try to space the pills out I suppose I just prefer to get it over w/ at once. Not for the high more for the convenience. & I don't feel desperate by the time I get to the next dose yesterday I forgot to take it until 5 or so I usually tak it about 3 pm I never have really taken them after 5pm cuz they keep me awake.  So for the first time ever I am w/in the 8 limit of the bottle directions, so I'm happy w/that could could always be better but I am not going to beat myself up over it. I just hope the drug test is ok

The "official" taper was suppose to start tomarrow (Thurs) but I was running low waiting for my script to fill so had to start it early (the day before yesterday)  I had no idea there was going to be a random and they do in fact test for the "levels" to see if u have exceeded your script so u can have a script and still get caught (I am also a urine and saliva drug tester)  but since I was in the limits at the time and I also pee alot I am hoping it is going to be fine.  Is the advantage of speading them out to keep u from feelin w/d??  I don't feel w/d this way (so far) but hey I can always modify it if I need to.

uh, huh.......so it sounds like you know your stuff. .....If your going to taper....Plopping 4 at a time twice a day......Your gonna have a beast of a time on that taper.  Spread them out and if you forget to take one every hour or whatever.....then good, skip it.  Thats how I quit.  I made myself take half a pill every hour for a few weeks then I dropped it to 1/4 every hour and it was a pain in de arse after a while, and you miss your doses naturally. Anyway, thats how I quit.

Think I'm gonna be fine I just rana saliva drug test on myself and all the lines lite up the METH line was faint but still there and evena a faint line indicated negativity.  I once did this when I had alot of tram in system and it came up postive under meth then too weird I would think it would be opiates...might be the test

Is it for pain?
or is for like hyper activiity? (is that why it shows like meth?)
I don't beleive it is a drug that is given around here allot.
I know ultram is given allot. A whole lot.

Yes, it is for pain, and I think he means "Methadone"  right?.......Now I am not sure...lol.

I took it for pain years ago, and stopped after a week.  It did nothing for me.  I am glad I chucked it, now.

For paadict, tramadol is the generic name of Ultram.

As for tramaddi, you should be more concerned about the Lortab, unless you have a prescription for that also.

My job does random drug testing I am also one of the drug testers today we had a random which happens 4 times a year and unfortunately another drug testers did it so I wasn't in the know and wound up on the list to be tested.  I am not sure why it is coming up underMeth as in Methanphetamines and not opiotes on the saliva test (I did on my own, I have the tests to test clients in my office)  They test in 4 catergories THC(marijuana) COC(cociane) OPI(opiates) and METH(methanphetimines)  percrisption pain meds usually come up unedr opiotes but if u have a perscription and the levels are in your system are not in excess then you pass if not u fail. I wonder if it is because it isn't a true opiote? If it is positive they (the lab it is mailed to)will call me for my perscription and then it should be fine...I hope.  If I fail I have to go a drug ed class and be subject to random up to 6 times I year and THEN if I screw up I get fired.  Hopefully it will fine I am lucky it happended now and not when I was using REALLY bad.

I don't have the lortab in my system I do have script tho it was suppose to take the place of the tramdol and when I tried to drop the tram completely and switch to lortab I got sick so I am still struggling w/ the tram I do have to say one plus to using less is regular normal pooping Constipation is a killer with too much pain meds:)

Is your OB/GYN RX'ng the meds to you? Do you think considering what type of company you work for it will bother them that you are pregnant and taking 8 tramadols per day? Hope you get tapered soon!

I don't see why it would bother them(what goes on in my medical history is really none of there business) they are not Dr's they are looking for ppl using illegal drugs are abusing.  The only ppl I have to explain my script to is the lab not them.  I guess I am not overly concerned but it is somethng I've alaways dreaded and have never been in this position before so it concernes me a little.  The taper is moving along fine so far.  I don't see what is so "creepy" about this post, if it makes u uncomfortable..simple solution ..don't open it and post.  If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.  If everyone folllowed that rule of thumb maybe ppl wouldn't get their feelings hurt so often on this site.
