vicodin Detox

I have been using Vicodin for pain management for about 1 year My regular Doctor has always been very good at keeping me supplied.  however I am running out and going to another Dt.  I have now realized that I am addicted to this drug and dont want to be.  Friday was my last day of use and today (monday) I feel as though I need it.  I hurt, and I am sweaty and cold and I am curious how long these feelings will last.  I want to be in control.  Lastly my husband is completely unaware of what I am going through, because I have not let him know.  I need help.

You are almost through this -- the worst is about over-- - Hang in there - tell everyone you have the flu and stay in bed for a day or two more.  Main thing is to never go through this again so after you come out of it, go and tell you doctor -- that will save you from weak moments when you feel like you want to return to the drugs or get amnesia and forget why you wanted to quit in the first place -- something many of us do.  All the best.

So, do you want to be married with secrets?   Did you take vows to take care of each other in sickness and in health?  Might consider sharing with him and asking for his help --- you are right about one thing - the need to stop before this gets a lot worse -- and believe me, most on this site can tell you what will happen to you if you continue to use --- soon you will be seeking and taking a much higher dose and your whole life will begin the slide down -- Most of us reached the point that we were using more and more to get less and less -- the pills were always the most important thing in our lives -- as we were either using or worrying about our 'supply' ---- one member wrote that "one pill is too many, and ten thousand is never enough."  So true.  Wish you all the best.  At your level it will not be too hard to quit, but not so if you continue.

Well, I am down to 6 pills and I gave them to my husband to taper me slowly, you should read the amino acid protocol, it sounds good for withdrawl symptoms, this ***** but you'll be better off  with out them. I am scared to death to stop, but know I have to.

hi and welcome to the forum...the symptoms yousdescribe are classic with w/ds.  everybody is different but for most the physical w/ds last 7-9 days with 3-4 being the worst.  however the mental part last much longer...you can do this, you just have to be strong...
