Thanks for the info.
It's OTC, but you have to get it at a vitamin shop or order it online. They don't carry it at GNC. the brand I use is called source naturals I think. I'll have to get back to you on that because I'm in my car right now. Only thing that helps the anxiety right now. They come in 500mg tablets and I take 3 at night before I lay down and I'm out in about 30 minutes. They may not work for everyone but it can't hurt to try.

Is the I tryptophan OTC or through your doc?
Hello. I was reading this thread and thought I'd add my 2 cents. Amino acids. They are essential to getting your brain back in order. If you can't eat food you should try amino supplements. L-tyrosine is in the Thomas recipe and works to replace dopamine I think it is. I can't take it because of anxiety because it gives you a burst of energy. Others on here swear by it. I take l-tryptophan for serotonin and melotonin. Taking a big dose of this at night before bed makes me tired and helps me sleep. I got almost 5 hours lastnight instead of the usual 3. And it was solid sleep too instead of up and down and tossing and turning. Tryptophan turns into serotonin in your brain. Serotonin is responsible for mood stability. Things like anxiety, depression and insomnia are effected by low serotonin levels. This is one of the parts of our brain chemistry that gets damaged during drug abuse. This might be why you can't sleep. It seems like that's what was wrong with me. I've already noticed a little difference in my sleep, but won't know about my anxiety issues for a few more days. Try this and see how it works for you. Hope this helped and hope you feel better soon. It will get better. Just takes time.
I became a father for the first time many years ago, but can still remember the exact moment. People will tell you how your life will change, how your child will be the most important thing in your life, etc. It's all true, but until you hear that baby cry for the first time, well, no one can put that in to words. What a wonderful event to inspire you; something unexplainable to look forward to. Congrats.
