we would love to have in Group and i know u would love it!these folks keep me sober as well....i know where their at with so much...and even tho its been 25 years for me sober/clean  i remember it all like it was yesterday...i will never forget..it is wise to not forget....u just hang girl..i was told when i left inpatient by one of the nurses who was recovering...do not drink/use even if ur butt falls off...and it would have to be surgically removed!:)big cyberhug!

bandita-dog is God spelled backwards!yes boogie i really enjoy helping those who really want recovery....my Adult Recovery Group on thursdays is a joy..some of these folks i have known for 20 years...one lady sober 9 years relapsed..then 3 relapsed bad...this is her last go around or she will die......one lady i've known since a teen now 33 and has 8 months sober....heroin addicts clean 4 years,2 years,7 months.....trying so hard and then those in the group who practice insanity.....repeating same mistakes and thinking there will b a different results!we love them and support thema nd tell them waht they need to hear...my day was made monday...a sign from above maybe...guy i worked with 2 years ago court ordered so much denial...nice guy....came in and said i know i have a problem..my mom died and i'm trying to kill the pain.....i know u can help me.....i sure can guide u on that one!my dad gone 3 years and the hole widens of his loss but i feel his wisdom around me.....we have so many court ordered folks...but having been in my agency 23 years and watching folks spin on the merry-go-round of denial an d pain makes it easier when they come back and say well u know me...guess we got work to do!:)great song there by AWB!

thank you much. i guess you get a good look at the tragedies of addiction pretty often in your work, but also the miracles. i'm usually referred to as the latter these days when i stop by the county tx center (i'm a repeat offender---i lost the exact count a few years ago). it takes a special kind of individual to do what is done best by someone who has been through the same trials. my mom works in another local facility that treats addiction as well as psych issues and i don't know if i could do it with the same level of compassion she has (and she's never had any first hand experience except me---maybe that's the reason). but as you know, that kind of service provides us with much more than a paycheck, but it must be cool to be able to make a living by working to help the still suffering folks that are reaching out for help. anyhoo, thanks again and take care, i have to sleep now.   gm

any day above ground sober is worth a lot. things here are a bit crazy---it's been non stop chaos since i got in from work (and i gotta go back in a few hours--if i can finish damage control here) and started on email 5 hours ago and and and............

hey its gry8t to have u post here......we are EOE posters...all welcome here.....we each have our different brand of humor for it is so necessary to have it in this life and in sobriety.I am saddened by the tragic non-sensical loss of ur friend...so unecessary...and all to common in this life...i do not understand it...i guess we r not meant too.....these things challenge my many times wavering faith as well......and i mourn these losses and move forward as we all must....i did SO MUCH drink driving in my day and in blackouts...and am so grateful i never  killed anyone....prayers for u as u mourn her loss.....glad she did not suffer long.sigh!welcome to our fellowship.....i enjoy reading ur comments on many issues as well....helpful and insightful!

Hey just got back from work....MS Subway Artist whoopdydoo...... I am no better than the next person.   Funny today I put Xtra makeup on 2 look like a cat....My Boss almost flipped out...well he did then high tailed it out of there (work place I mean) THEN I saw my schedule 4 next week...ooooooooooooooh no wonder he took off so fast!!! That's  OK CUZ I'LL call his # and put him on the spot!!!!!!! I will try to get Tom my you know whatty to post a pic of my KITTY FACE from today...it is rather cute if I say so myself!!!! thanks for the support. i used to d&d all the time, even been stopped a couple times. once got pulled for speeding right after taking a shot of 151. how could the officer not have smelled that???? i got a speeding ticket and went on my way. how i got by for all that time, i can only guess. but thank god i never hurt anyone but myself driving. it's just so ironic. but after reading your post i'm starting to realize that there are those suffering from both parties, and all involved could use prayer. and i need not understand, but try to accept. thanks again and take care, gm

First I must say I am so sorry for the loss of your friend....so young! You know the saying God works in mysterious ways. Perhaps it was best that she go to him less she suffer further from the injuries she received. It is tragic enough that she was in an accident but to have it caused by a drunk driver is even worse. I can relate since I was once one of those. 3 DUI's under my belt not to mention all the ones I didn't get caught at. I thank God I never injured or killed anyone or myself. What was doled out to me by the court is rough but really probrably the only thing that got me to stop and see the destruction I was causing to myself and others. Maybe this person that hit her needs that same wake up call. I'm guessing their punishment by the courts will be worse than mine....But the worst will be living with the fact that they selfishly took someones life just to get a Buzz. Ours is not to know why but to keep our faith and walk the road that has been given to us. I fell of my path but now let my Higher Power do the driving for me. Hope this helps you. hi. hope i'm not breaking any rules posting this. i do read your conversations and really enjoy all of your comments----from the somewhat crazy sense of humor you have to the more serious stuff---it's a lot like the fellowship in the meetings (and i mean crazy in a good way---i got papers that qualify my psychological condition). anyhoo, here's my question: a young (32) lady who was very active in aa in my area was hit head on this past sunday. she died yesterday after being taken off of life support. the real kicker is she was hit by a drunk driver that was going the wrong way. well i guess it's really not a question, more like a request for your feedback as these kinds of things tend to really challenge my faith. thanks for being here on mh........gm

I'm still around.....reading but not taking the time to write. Still training the Boss!!! We now exchange DVD's. I loaned him "Dude where's my car" Poor guy didn't get it! So dumb!!!!! Have Toms Exes Cat! What a mess she is! You know how they say pets and their owners take on eachothers traits? Well it's true!!!! All this one does is lay around whine and eat!!!! Not necessarily in that order, But the whining is driving me nuts!!!!! I have her on a diet! Tom starts training Monday for a new job, nothing great but it's income till something better comes along. Bank has offered to restructer the home loan at 3.5 fixed!!! Halllelujah we won't have to foreclose!!! WHEW!!!!!! I'll catch ya's later...am off today. don't know where all those other girls r!deer r lovely creatures..it is bow season here and they come thru town poor things!my neighbor lady had big pile of deer droppings on her lawn!u keep up that sobriety wagon girl.....the remorse...emotional hangover of a relapse ain't worth it.Pray for Jennifer Hudson.....the grief she must be xperiencing overwhelms me...her 2...she is a strong lady but what a triple whammy to have to deal with.What a friggin world we live in!sigh!

Well girl it is going.  One day at a time!  I had a good session with the therapist today.      I guess right now Ibi we will just have our pet deer, that come through and chow down on everything morning and evening.  2 does and they both have twin fawns.

You are so right.  I've got to get me a dog.  We have not done it because we go so much, it wouldn't be fair to her.  But, we miss a pet.  We had a cocker, weiner dog cross for 17 years and it broke our hearts when we had to put him down.   He was to the suffering part and no choice.  No need to tell your Mom things that will upset her, i do the same with mine.  I have a quilt my Grandma made me when i was 7.  50 years ago and i have it out where i can see it.  i love it.  dutch girls.  i have no talents for crafts but admire those who do.  Making two big pots of beef stew.   One for me (as Ed has flown to L.A. to help his Aunt with financial stuff) and one for my mother in law and father in law.  Ed just called and sounded disappointed, stew without him. haha  I told him i will make more when you get home.  Yes, the drama stuff, i don't have much of.
just one friend, it is always a drama, big time, but what do you do.  She is so good and loving, just let it go.  Story telling is more like it.   Thanks for your response.  TJ

mom good.....she does not know about all the belongings in the house...it would flip her out...no need 2 do that....i love the comfort of having her big afghans around me at nite....and her things and my dad's things....Lord how i hate drama!enuf of it here at work....the dogs and cats give me very little!:why i love them so much..plus comfort and love one knows will always b there!t-jack..u stay on that wagon....no BS excuses to use..never a good reason...always flimsy xcuses!:)

Just checking in to say hi and see what's up?  Loving this fall weather up here in the nw.
foggy mornings and sunny around 11, getting to 70 and the leaves are gorgeous.  My favorite time of year.  Hubby is on his way to airport to fly to LA.  Has to help his Aunt with some financial paperwork.  We were going to drive down, but it wouldn't really be a pleasure trip and i don't partake in their business meetings etc. so i decided Nah, i will stay home.  
Ibi, how is your Mom?  Mine is doing pretty good.  She sounds good and is doing her physical therapy, walking and getting stronger.  It actually shocks me@  I am so happy though.  okay, post all the news.  I have fallen off the wagon, but back on it again now.
