Yeah i know i agree, i have really bad like Intrusive thoughts or OCD thoughts, she said it is something you will grow out off but i dont feel thats the case, i cant go back as she wont reffer me
Absolutely you should be referred back to the mh counselors for therapy.
We have periods where we go through transitions in our life. Age 21 is said to be one of these. I guess it is more about what it represents to people. Independence, etc.
A lot of people don't grow out of their anxiety and as it seems to be affecting you so much I think that counseling is entirely appropriate.
You could try posting on the mood disorders expert forum if you have questions you feel a doctor could better answer.
I Went to the doctors a month ago and was told she would refer me back to the mental health counsilers, but wanted to run blood test to mkae sure i was healthy, it went fine and was told to book another appointment, which i did but had to wait about a month, and was told that my doctor had left so i hads a different doctor who was lovely but she refused to Refer me and said it wouldnt help and that i should mature around it by about 21, this really confused me? and now i am quite in the dark

Callum, here is a discussion board with a couple of postings on intrusive thoughts. I read some of them and they don't exactly match what you describe but perhaps you might want to share your experiences and ask if it sounds like these could be intrusive thoughts to those who have experienced them. Good luck.
I have had intrusive thoughts only mildly in the past so I may not be the best person to answer your questions. My intrusive thoughts always came at bedtime and yes they made me feel anxious. I would not be aware of reality when they were happening but I would snap in and out of it fairly quickly. They would feel real at the time but as soon as I snapped out of it I would know it wasn't real. Google intrusive thoughts and obsessive compulsive disorder discussion groups and you may be able to talk one on one with others who regularly have intrusive thoughts. I hope you are feeling better as of late. Have you been back to the doctor/counseller?
Hi i have a few more new questions?
Intrusive Thoughts, Can they be something really unusual such as the thoguths of traveling fast in all different situation?
Can it trugger of the anxiety?
Can it make the suffferer almost feel like it's true?
Thanks
Yes i was running across the road after a stupid toy thing and it hit me, i was shot up slightly in to the air and landed on the ground there was no bleeding the only damage was a large burn mark on my back that scavbed over.
I am so :( bout it, had a few bad days today with a few good days last week, my dad has a unfair opinion on mental issues usually, and im so scared on his opinion too
Thanks
Callum
Yes I think it is. Did you say a car hit you? Where you on foot, bicycle or in a car? Were you hit hard and did you hit your head?
After i recieve my results on the blood test, im am going to request a brain scan as i was never examined after my car crash, is this a good idea?
Hi guys
I have experianced wierd dizzy spells like im about to fall over or just like get really dizzy or though im not going to, I get its sitting down, stannidng still or lying down, could this be apart of the symptons of anxiety? or something like vertigo?
Thanks
Callum
Okay i will mention it, the main thing that bothers me are the thoughts they are constant, scary and wierd
In simple words, Neurologists are doctor of Brain .. they have special command over dealing with disease (whether physical or psychological) related to Brain, All nervous systems, and Spinal Cord.
It is a doctor that specializes in disorder or injuries to the brain, spinal cord and nerves. They can do all kinds of tests that can determine if your brain is functioning properly.
whats a neurologist?
Thanks
I think p0rtzer0 is right. Perhaps you should be examined by a neurologist, have you looked into this. Ask your doctor if you can get a referral. Stay strong Callum, I am sending you my prayers for recovery.
well i always thoguth and still kind of do think that my wierd thoughts about fast things and being on a fast thing is completely not anxiety because its really wierd, even my doctor said its unusual, I do think though that i am going to go insaine
Dear,
There is a slight difference between being in dream state and feeling as if you are about to go insane or crazy..
while feeling as if you are Mentally ill is a classical symptom of Anxiety Disorder but being in dream-like state 24/7 can actually be related to some other neurological syndrome than just Anxiety.. please see a Neurologist to rule out if there is anything else other than anxiety disorder.
that is something we all deal with the dream states (or at least our perception of) and worrying about loosing control is probably true in most of us. Look for books by Ekhart Tolle, very helpful and good luck, never forget you are not alone
hi thank you for your comments, i do yeah
I have lately felt really out of control and felt like im almost in a dream kind of and also like feeling like im just going to go over the edge and go uncontrolable for some reason
1: Can Anxiety Be triggerd by something i am not aware of?
In Anxiety Disorder you are tend to get panic attacks for no apparent reasons.
2: Can Anxiety be constant alot of the time?
If there is an underlying cause that you are not aware of (or is not giving much importance) then yes, that underlying cause can cause anxiety to be constant all the time.
3: Can Anxiety cause you to think about wierd things
Yes, it's part of anxiety attacks.. it sometimes make you feel like as if you are about to go insane or crazy.
Okay thank you wolftrack i appreciate it, i will read the link soon
