It's impossible to tell if either of these medications would work for you, but both of them have a good track record, meaning they DO work for a lot of people. Antidepressants can drastically reduce, or eliminate feelings of anxiety, but therapy is an important component of addressing anxiety as well.
The only way you'll know is if you try. I know you're anxious about taking a medication, which is certainly an obstacle, but if you want to try a med, you're going to have to try to work through that with your doctor and therapist.
Also, remember that these medications take time to work. It's very typical to expect to need 6 or more weeks to really start noticing improvements. It's a process, and as much as you want to feel better and get back to living a normal life, you would have to hang in there and be patient with that process.
What would help more than the medication is speaking to a therapist. It would be a good idea to find one and work through your anxiety. Medication can reduce anxiety but it's only a band aid to a larger issue.
