I have two female friends whose sons both went into the marines. Both were deployed first to Iraq and then to Afghanistan. There is a group called "Marine Moms" that helped them out tremendously. I'm sure there are similar groups for other service branches as well. Do some Googling and see what you can find out. And many thanks to your son for his service!
Again, thank you. I am sorry to learn you lost your son at 31. There are no words, but I do send a hug.
You're very welcome and I hope you find others on here who have a similar situation. Try to dwell on the fact that your son is no longer in a war and came home safe and sound. You still have your son which is wonderful. I lost my son at 31 and have to face the fact that I will never see him again. You're never alone, we're always hear and willing to listen.
Thank you for your wonderful words! I will certainly pass on your appreciate to our son. Support from home truly makes a difference to their moral. He has since finished his tour of service and is now a civilian.
Wanted to see if I could connect to someone who had a similar experience. Thought maybe the connection could help my recovery and in turn I can maybe help them.
This site is wonderful and I am grateful to have found it and people like you. I have stopped feeling so alone. Thank you.
I'm not in that situation but can certainly understand your panic and anxiety. Let your son know that I support his efforts and thank him for his service! We are free because of sons like your's!! If you get no responses on here, google support groups in your area, I'm sure there are some, or you may even find on-line support groups. But you can always talk to us! I wish you all the best and will keep your son in my prayers. Take care.
