Then you need a new doctor. Start looking today. If you are not taken seriously, then there is no point in seeing this person. Find someone who knows about anxiety.
Hey thankyou ye I'm going to talk to my doctor but don't know if he will do anything as he doesn't take things seriously :\ x
Hi......I totally agree with the above advice given to you. Anxiety is like any other medical condition requiring daily medication to control the symptoms. Don't get caught up in anything except getting yourself in a better place, and if that means medication, that's okay. You have a choice, and I would opt any day for medication than the life I had before it. I wish you all the best.
Thanks xx and ye I'm going to ask because I feel I'm getting worse n getting stupid ideas into my head do you know any things to get my mind working again see if it can be helpful ?x
Hi Vicky...I have read some of your earlier posts. You said that you are in therapy but from what I am gathering it is not enough. I know you don't want to go the medication route because you are afraid you will become addicted. But look at most of the people on this forum...many are on medication along with therapy and they are doing great. Does it really matter at this point if you take medication? Isn't a pill that will make you feel normal again like your friends worth it? I think that you definitely need to give this some serious thought and talk to your therapist about it next time you see him/her. You are fighting a tough battle without much assistance and it is very hard. I commend you for trying but at some point we have to decide that enough is enough. You are not living your life at this point, but merely existing. You are 17 with a whole wonderful life waiting for you so go out and grab it Vicky.
