There are some studies out there on Inositol (Vitamin B8) as compared to other medications normally used to treat anxiety. The studies might be worth you looking into. I can tell you honestly from my own problems with OCD/anxiety that I did it for years without medication. But when a crisis hits me, I can't control it without meds. I try but it is just too overwhelming for my CBT. And as you know, once the spiral starts happening it is really hard to get back out.
In any event, since you tried medication and can't take the side effects, maybe you should research some of the more natural products out there.
MysticSoul, since you are a medical psychologist you probably already know of these things. Have you tried them?
I have been having anxiety pretty severe for a few months. I always have nausea, vomiting, cramping and other bathroom issues. It last most of the day, though yours sounds much more severe. My doc is having me go to a GI just to make sure nothing else is going on. I have lost 20 pounds in a month. I hope you can find some answers and relief soon!
I've had this for 6 years an got better aside from some agrophobia for 4 years an bam its back full fledge. :/ I never have took meds.... practicing self help an cbt some days r ok but never good. I'm at a loss an so scare to try a med
I am an out of practice Medical Psychologist. I cant take meds - tried so may and had major reactions.
I was anxiety free for decades until a major medical misdiagnosis
Doing all the normal recovery tools and not breaking the cycle
I don't know your history....are you seeing a therapist and learning CBT? Are you taking meds or adverse to them? I lost 12 pounds in 3 weeks from my last anxiety crisis. I'm only guessing that after 10 weeks you are probably going to turn into dust and blow away soon. What coping strategies are you using to get over this? Sorry to come into your picture so late in the game with a bunch of questions.
