Anxiety Help!!!!

Hello everyone, I am a 19 year old male that has just recently started getting severe anxiety quite often during the night. It started about a month and a half ago when I had came up with a stomach flu that had made me fear for my health (I had smoked both marijuana and cigarettes for 3-4 years often before getting the flu and have stopped both cold turkey ever since). Along with my symptoms of the flu, i started to have anxiety where I almost felt insane and I would nag friends and family to help me calm down because my heart would be racing and I could not get any sleep at night. Some nights, I could cope with my anxiety and find a way to sleep, or on other nights I would panic and wake up my family or friend to cope with my illness/anxiety of the night (one of the nights I had went to the hospital, got my blood drawn, took xrays, got my urine checked out and nothing came up other than me having the flu and that I was very low on potassium and dehydrated). After the flu passed, I continued and still continue to have anxiety during the night that mostly consists of gassy stomach pains and rumbling, being very weak in my arms and legs(feel like pins and needles),twitching in my fingers & veins) a slight pain in both my rib cages and neck, and a racing heart. I know all of this may sound crazy to someone who isnt going through something similar but its very serious to me. No matter how hard I DONT focus on my anxiety, it always seems to find its way back just because all the pain I go through at the time pops up and feels so real to where I start to panic again. I have tried many anxiety coping techniques as well and nothing seems to help. I would just appreciate any help that could be given on helping me out, and was also curious if anyone else has had similar symptoms as I have. Thankyou for taking your time to listen.

People with anxiety have all sorts of symptoms, some actually caused by being anxious and some not caused by it.  (Many people with anxiety and many doctors will blame anything they can't find the cause of on anxiety).  Because this is recent and not long-term and chronic yet, I'd say you've become conditioned by whatever caused that first bout of anxiety -- and dehydration can cause anxiety and the pain you felt and the twitching, as that's what happens when you're depleted of electrolytes -- and the best thing to do now is see a psychologist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety to nip this in the bud.  Good luck.

Hey thanks for listening but no not yet! I have never put much thought in getting one since this anxiety has only been around for about 6 weeks. But I have decided to find help with a therapist/mental health professional within the next few days and hopefully it will help me relax and or find out whats going on

Good for you.  One of the hardest things for us guys to do is admit there is a problem, therefor we don't allow ourselves to reach out for help.  Anxiety and depression often run hand in hand and I have battled them both.  Good luck to you and I hope the best for you.
