Panic attacks a lot

I get panicky all the time. i don't have panic attacks mostly just hyperventilate a bit, I get palpitations. It is usually when i go out, I think the smallest things stress me.. I cannot cope with walking round shops anymore, I spend most of the time at home but I want to be able to go out with out drinking before I do.

How can I stop this happening? I am gonna do a few sessions of free counseling but that starts in like a month and only lasts for a month. I can't cope with feeling like this all the time, I'm not even under any pressure to do anything at the moment.

It happens worst when I get angry.. my heart beats really hard and fast then messes up, I can't breathe I want to pullmymy hair out and cut and even drinking just makes me feel sick. I have tried to get myself killed before when I was angry and stressed and I really just want this all to end before I get to that stage again.
How do i stop panicking?

The problem with anxiety is once we get panicky when we do something like go out, go shopping, go to a meeting etc is that once you have experienced this then you automatically think that it will happen every time afterthat and then you expect it to happen which in essence makes it happen.  The solution is to break through the vicious cycle and take control.  You can do this through several ways:
1. Self-help books and tools, like relaxation tapes,
2. Listening to your favorite quiet music and visualizing yourself going through the motions of entering your favorite store, looking at the items there, etc and experiencing it ahead of time with no panic, (try this, it works)
3. Get help via a psychiatrist or councellor
4. Try herbal supplements such as Valerian that take the firey edge off the nerves.

Remember that it is YOU that can help yourself.  If you want to try and do the self-help methods, there's alot of satisfaction when it starts working, if not, the person that you can see (psychiatrist) will show you ways of helping yourself.  Both things go back to the same thing, that is that it is within your power to stop these feelings, but it takes practice and each small success will help you progress and get better.

Start by giving yourself one simple thing to do that would normally stress you out and once that works you can feed from that sucess and little by little prove to yourself that you have the strength within you to free yourself of the anxiety that creates this panic.

Believe me, I've done it myself and it works, but you have to be patient with yourself, you can do it REALLY!

Good luck, sorry for my rambling ...

I don't know whether to ask my parents if I can see a psychiatrist? I don't know if this would help.
