Have you ever had anxiety issues in the past? For me, the best way to deal with anxiety is to learn about it through therapy. Talking it over and gaining the knowledge about it can help you confront it in my experience. My anxiety also tends to spike when a loved one is sick. Do you have access to counseling?
With the medications you're taking you should not be feeling this way. Your thyroid can cause anxiety but it sounds like yours is taken care of with the synthroid. I would call your doctor and let him/her know what you're experiencing, he will know what to do. Don't ever assume any new symptom is anxiety, when something new pops up, contact your doctor to rule out other causes. Since this has worsened with your grandmother going into a nursing home, I think talking to someone about what you're truly feeling inside over this would benefit you greatly. Talking to us was a big step, and we're here to support you, so feel free to talk to us at any time. Exercise is great for anxiety, writing down your feelings and emotions is very therapeutic. You may be viewing your grandmother entering the nursing home as the beginning of the end, and it's weighing heavily on you. You need to talk about what you're feeling. Best wishes and take care.
It'snot CLEAR what you are asking. Call the MD who put you on all the meds and ask there. Not enough info here to safely discuss.
Amber,
Do you have anyone who you can talk to? Some doctors are quick to whip out the prescription pad when therapy or even just having someone to talk to might go a long way in feeling better over time.
Have you some form of exercise to burn off some of that energy? Try to get out and do something...job, walk, swim, ride a bike, anything to work off that nervous energy and perhaps over time you'll start to settle down some.
Spend some more time with friends and divert your thoughts to more positive things.
