In answering this question, remember NOT to give away anything that might identify you personally such that anyone could locate you, etc.
I don't think mine needs much explanation. :)
My name is boring too! Just a mushing together of my names. I am curious too about the more imaginative ones! Nozmeg in particular is driving me nuts now!!
Hmmm! Interesting. When it comes down to the bottom line, my choice of nickname was a baffle of the moment. I'm still in studies so "Paramed" is a misfit since I'm not holding a title like that yet (hah, but hoping to!).
As far as Florena, I was running out of ideas and just caught up on an eye-catch... Makes me feel comfy though!
And me using my real name in any kind of way online would probably make everyone a little bit confused since it's not a very common name...
One do come over nic-names that leave very much air for the creativy mind though. Did you ever wonder how to pronounce a nic? Oh gosh...!
Unfortunately mines not really that interesting...darn

Litha is the name of the summer solstice. My son was born June 21st of 1995 which happened to be the summer solstice that year. 26 is the age I was when I started using the name.
Take a look at my profile and you will see why I picked my name. At first, it was an embarrassment and frankly, sometimes it still is especially since it probably takes away from any credibility I might have. On the other-hand, it has become somewhat amusing in that people have made the assumption that I am a man because what woman would ever consider calling herself Barfer! I would like to change it but then who knows, I could end up with something even worse. I do have a sense of humour about it seeing as, I'm not male, don't drink, 55 years of age (so not young), a mother and married to a retired executive...not quite the profile you expect, right?!
I'm in the rather unimaginative group as well. Greenlydia.............because green is my favorite color and politically I lean towards the Green Party, actually, I'll "lean" towards ANY party as long as the bar is well stocked!
And "lydia," well now.......is there anyone here old enough to remember a rather obscure singer from the 60's named Steve Goodman? Sang sort of Arlo Guthrie kind of songs, story songs, if you will. My husband and I really liked his stuff and we sang along at the top of our lungs on our honeymoon across the Yukon, top down on the jeep, scaring the wildlife to death.........I'm sure there are still moose (mooses? moosi?) running for their lives from the racket! Steve sang a great song about a guy and his gal called "Donald and Lydia." Steve passed away from cancer just about the time I got my first computer. Greenlydia was born the first time I was asked for a "username." It just kinda flew out of my fingers on the keys without any thought.
So...........there you are. And here I am. Greenlydia
I'm so sorry to read about the loss of your husband - your story brought tears to my eyes, as when I was reading about your honeymoon story, I could imagine it....then your story turned so sad when I read about his passing....again, I am very sorry.
Thanks for sharing this with us...
My nickname was inspired by my weaning off of xanax - just a little play on words. As I'm still in the process of tapering down, I am so thankful for finding this forum when I was researching xanax withdrawal....it led me here.....I
I've "met" so many great people and have found the support I desperately need to push forward in my struggle to remove this med. from my daily schedule...
Thank goodness for medhelp...and thanks to any of you have reached out to me with your support, kindness, and prayers...

I chose "liv4now25" because I think we should live in the "now" and I like the number 25.
well primetime is the nick name of deon sanders..played corner for dallas cowboys..who wears number 21...Same number i wore during my high school football years...When i think of that number it just brings back some of the best memories of my life when i was playing ball..all those fun times...
Hehe...I just joined yesterday and I was reading some posts and saw the name Barfer and totally pictured you as a man...and my thoughts went to someone that has a fear of vomiting...probably because that's one of my phobia's ...So...nice to know it's not ALL in a name!
My nickname Whazel is just a shortened version of Witch Hazel...the cartoon actually. My dad used to call me that when I was a kiddo because I had crazy long curly hair and so did the character. It's always just stuck with me.
What an interesting topic!
I too have often pondered the meanings behind the user names people assign to themselves. When they are truly unique, they tend to be very telling about the persons personality, and especially here, their life struggles.
Mine is quite self explanitory, as a major factor in my anxiety disorder is "heart anxiety". My heart has been still more often than not as of late! :-P
I always thought that this was a Shakespeare quote, but after a very frustrating google search, I finally founds it's origins:
The earliest citation of the full 'be still, my beating heart' comes from William Mountfort's Zelmane, 1705:
"Ha! hold my Brain; be still my beating Heart."
Very fitting for all of us anxiety folks, don't you think? LOL!
Thanks for a great post!

Oh you lovable, wonderful guy!
My husband didn't die, Steve Goodman, the singer, died!
Your sentiments were so sweet, they really touched my heart and I am so happy to tell you that my husband is very much alive and out building his dream garage as we speak!
But we both miss Steve Goodman very much.
Bless your heart for your compassion!
Peace

I am back to the old old AOL days .. figured I talk alot so the ChitChat .. and then AOL assigned a # 9 to the end as in ChitChat9 .... then I weaned myself off of AOL and thought it was the end of the world with a new e-mail provider but oh no it got worse ... the ChitChat9 was gone and taken for good .... so what other choice other than spell it out Nine ... Now if you look very very carefully on my profile ... they have a typo ... in that one of the letters is capped when should be lower case but the older I get the wiser I have become and I don't stress about the small stuffs in life any more :)
Honestly, I am known among many health arena forums as ChitChatNine so no way was I going to change the S/N .... when I send an e-mail with my real name in it .. well, I'm afraid they'll toss it as SPAM.

How do you measure the attention span of a Mexican Jumping Bean?
I wanted to be NerdyBirdy but didn't get A+ in Astrophysics and didn't want to misrepresent myself.

How to measure the attention span of a jumping bean?
Quickly, wolfie, very quickly.

On another forum, far, far way from this forum, I am known as "Greenwolf." I love wolves. I like your name.
FYI...............
A Mexican Jumping Beans attention span is measured by trying to read it a chapter of "War and Peace." If it jumps before the end of the first sentence, you'll have a clear picture of JSGs time frame.
Certainly a clearer picture than I.

I read War and Peace....vastly over rated. No reflection on either of you...you are much more interesting!
