Zoloft: Feel Extremely Restless!

Today is my 6th day on Zoloft and my doctor prescribed me 25mgs as well as trazodone 50mgs for sleep.
I take zoloft in the morning generally when I wake up.
I noticed yesterday and today around the 5th-6th hour mark, my body, specifically my stomach area would start to feel 'high' and my heart rate would increase. It's like restless energy is churning in my stomach. I feel like I could run all day.
Yesterday I almost felt like passing out at work that I had to go home. Is this normal in the beginning stages?
My psychiatrist and pharmacist told me to try taking the zoloft and trazodone together at 8pm so I'd pass out by 10pm. And maybe the trazodone could help balance out the restlessness.

Can someone please let me know if this is what tends to happen in the beginning stages?

Hi, there!  Welcome to the forum!  There are a lot of great people and resources out here.

First of all, I'm on day 100 ish on zoloft for anxiety.  I can tell you on day 6-8, I was VERY jittery, feeling like I was going to come out of my skin.  I kept in touch with my doctor, and found this forum.  This is a very common side effect of zoloft.  The crummy part is we just have to ride it out.  The good news is, it DOES get better.  I found it helpful to track my symptoms on a spreadsheet - this helps me see my progress, and I don't have to try and remember details when I'm catching up with my dr.

I know - I KNOW - it's hard when what we're doing to feel better doesn't kick in right away.  But hang in there - better days are coming!

They told me to take it in the morning but now they told me to take it two hours before I go to bed with the trazodone. Hopefully thinking that it'll balance out the restlessness.

You mentioned you are not taking Zoloft when they suggested you take it, however I am not sure what your go forward plan is. Are you taking the traz? Are you planning to switch Zol to their times?

I imagine you will get some other responses here and feel free to keep posting on your thread here, but in the meantime you might find this one provides some helpful background to read since it has some of the same problem.
