my anxiety attacks would make me light headed, nausous, my heart would race, my chest would start to hurt and my arm would go numb. When I first gotten it, I thought I was coming down with the stomach flu. It made me feel like I was dying. I thought I was having a stroke or heart attack or dying from cancer. I spent many nights in the ER, thinking something was seriously wrong with me. When I began going to therapy, and realized what was causing these symptoms, it was a big relief. Then I began to notice that the panic attacks were occuring less often.
For me, my attack was this overwhelming feeling of doom. My heart started racing, and I started to breathe faster and faster. I even started listening to my heart with my stethoscope. On another occasion, my back became very numb and tingly and then I started to get that 'doom' feeling. But, anxiety doesn't need/have to be all of that at the same time. Lately, I've felt that pin and needle feeling in both my feet and my hands feel stiff and tired. I'm no expert, but my girlfriend says she has had all of these symptoms before and that it sounds exactly like anxiety to her. That's my story.
What you described in your first post sounds like it could be a lot of things, but it could very well be anxiety. If you're anything like me, you don't feel 'stressed' but the subconscious toll stress can have on you can result in very physical symptoms.
My advise it to keep an eye on it. Go see a doctor- even if he/she tells you it's just stress, you've gained piece-of-mind. Also, remember to take time to relax. I've found that running really helps me.
what are the symptoms of anxiety attacks...I have had a lot to happen in my life over the last couple of months...I felt like I was handling thing ok, but maybe not. I will talk to my doctor more about it. Thanks
Very low iron can cause similar symptoms but it can still be anxiety attacks. Speak to the doctor about iron supplements and eating more iron enriched foods. I would still try to see a therapist and see how that works out.
I've been getting this pin and needle sensation in both my feet lately. It's very random...although it seems to happen more when I'm tired and laying down. I've been told that it sounds like anxiety, which is new to me. I did have a panic attack a couple weeks ago. Anyways, do you have any history of anxiety? I'm beginning to understand that anxiety can show it self in many forms.. Does your numbs come and go? How severe is it?
it's not everyday, but its happening more often...I have had blood work done and everything came back normal. I was told my a carenow physician, that my iron is really low...So I research that, and low iron can also cause these symptons...It is last a couple more days, I will call my doctor again.
Thanks
Is this an every day thing? it could be signs of a mini stroke. It could also be panic attacks. I've suffered from panic attacks, and they can cause numbness, heavy breathing and tingling. See a doctor about it, they will probably offer some tests. When I had similar symptoms, they gave me a CT scan and discovered everything was normal. I was later diagnosed with panic disorder.
