I originally started the pill because I have having periods twice a month, which is irregular and dangerous (in my opinion). The pill has worked great and I don't get side effects.
With the recent election, I am worried that the mandate for insurance companies to cover birth control without a copay will be repealed. I am not a fan of the IUD because of the potential risks, and pills have worked amazingly. Since I originally got on birth control for my periods, is there a way to make sure my insurance still covers it completely since it is more of a medical reason than a sexual?
Without full coverage, I will not be able to afford a monthly payment, no matter how "cheap". I am a student under my parents' insurance so I do not qualify for Medicaid and I have no income. My parents would not be willing to pay for it. Also, I am not in a convenient location to a women's clinic to get reduced cost birth control.
