Any news on your husband?
Wow. I am shocked and sorry to hear about your husband. i don't know the answer to your question as I am just another patient. It does sound very serous though like it was a very bad stroke. What do the doctors say?
Horselip?
I am so sorry to hear about your husband. It is actually pretty unusual to get strokes post-op - with an experienced surgeon, they can avoid the structures. It can still happen rarely just with anatomical issues and can be totally unpredictable. It can happen with any surgery.
That being said, have you spoken to the doctors about his prognosis? Did they identify where the stroke happened? Are they planning to bring him out of the coma in the near future? Have you spoken to the social worker, nurse staff or doctor in charge to get a clearer picture of what to expect? If not, I would ask them the questions as even though you can look up rates, you want to know about your husband's case.
