Hi, Mary Ellen,
I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis also but I have a question.
Do you have your actual pathology report? Is the lobular carcinoma
"invasive" or "in situ"? There's a BIG difference between the two in seriousness and treatment. Lobular carcinoma in situ is not as serious and I have LCIS myself. It requires no treatment but it puts you at high risk and requires frequest testing to be sure it doesn't lead to invasive cancer. I believe in most cases this is the same for ADH, but some women need lumpectomy and possible anti-estrogen treatment.Once you know exactly what you have, your doctor will be the best person to explain what it means and what the treatment recommendations are. They are very individualized to the person and based on many factors: tumor size, location, grade, stage, prior history and risk factors and maybe a few more I've forgotten. I hope you can get this all clarified. Please come back and let us know what you find out and if you have any more questions then if you wish. There are many wonderful women here with lots of information and support for you if you need it.
I wish you all the very best and send you a big hug from Michigan,
nc
