Burning after biopsy

I had my core biopsy on my right breast 2 and a half weeks ago. Just this morning, the site of the biopsy started burning. It was sore, quite a bit, to start with two weeks ago, but the aching subsided mostly up until now. Now I keep feeling like someone is poking a burning toothpick into it. Has anyone else encountered this post-biopsy? Should I be at all concerned?

Thanks!
Susan

Thanks - that helps. I'm actually switching doctors and I don't see my new one until two weeks from today. The burning is a little less today - kinda comes and goes, so unless it gets worse, I'll hold out for the new doc.

I had intermittent burning and soreness at the biopsy site for a couple of months, but no complications. You should probably check with your doctor to make sure there isn't infecton or hematoma.

Hi, I had a stereotactic biopsy 4 weeks ago.  I am still rather bruised, burning, itching and I have a hematoma about the size of a golf ball still.  Everyone reacts differently and it probably is normal, but if you think you may have an infection it probably would be wise to just call the dr.  Other than that, these biopsies obviously take time to heal.  Take Care.

I was very uncomfortable after I had my core needle biopsy. After I had it, the dr nor nurse did not tell me any specific instructions. I went home and did laundry, picked up my baby, went about my business. Probably because I was still kinda numb. But boy, that night and the next day I was hurting bad. I called the dr and they said to take Tylenol.

I would call your dr and tell them. Cant hurt. - Good luck - hope you feel better soon.
