Can a breast MRI be done without contrast dye?

I am post menopausal and  have had a dull ache or pain in the L breast  daily  x 7 months . the pain is not focused in any one area..Both Mammogram and ultrasound are negative.
I can have an MRI but reluctant because the contrast gadolinium can create serious health issues for some .
