Yes, these labs are often elevated in cancer patients but are general inflammatory markers; not cancer specific as I have stated in my previous post.  Just because one has an elevated CRP and/or ESR DOESN'T mean he/she has cancer.  Other conditions can elevate these labs as well.

ESR and CRP DON'T determine "cancer like inflammations."  They indicate there is a systemic inflammation process going on in the body.

Examples: CA-125, CA-19, AFP, etc.  These ARE examples of SPECIFIC CANCER MARKERS.

I am not going to state all the cancer markers that can be ordered as there are so many.  The markers that are ordered will depend on what cancer the physician is suspecting, patient symptoms, imaging, results of other labs, etc.

I have had an elevated ESR before myself NOT cancer related.

Are you investigating this for yourself or someone else?  What kind of cancer is suspected?

I heard from the site *************.com, in cancer patients, the esr and CRP tests are highly elevated.
Will you please mention which tests are more specific other than these tests..?

No,  they aren't.  Other more specific labs/test are ordered.

ESR and CRP labs are very general and not specific in regards to checking for cancer.
