New Headaches

I had decompression surgery Oct. 9 and all in all am recovering well.  However, yesterday evening I developed a headaches like I've never had.  It wasn't one of my "Chiari" headaches, it wasn't like migraines that I have had in the past, instead, It was a very strong stabbing pain in the right side of my head behind my eye and right over my eye.  I'm completely at a loss of what this is.  This morning I have had the pain again, but not as severe.  Any  ideas would be appreciated.

I'd be happy to communicate with the person wondering about Dr. Bejjani, just send me a message or have them contact me.  I am really impressed with Dr. Bejjani and the whole UPMC in general and would be happy to share my experience!!!

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the support and the answers!!!

Selma-
My Chiari journey took a fast past.  I finally got TCI to review my latest MRI and they finally diagnosed me as having Chiari instead of IIH/PTC, but my insurance wouldn't allow me to go to New York, so I finally found my life savor in Dr. Bejjani at UPMC in Pittsburg.  He agreed with TCI's diagnosis and sent me to a neuro-ophthalmologist, which completely ruled out the IIH/PTC!! I had a return visit with Dr. Bejjani 1 day later and we scheduled surgery for the following week!

The eye pain doesn't seem to be triggered by movement...I do get extremely dizzy and a "all over headache" if I move too fast or wrong.  I may have been just too much activity yesterday because I spent the day with my MIL and we went out to eat and did just a little shopping, but we went 40 miles away,so it was a lot of riding!!

thanks again for all the answers and support...its good to be back!!

I'm 4 mo post op & have new pain behind my right eye since surgery.  My NS said it was due to nerve regrowth, as I had no reflex in that eye before surgery.
It's very early for you; I think you might find lots of new types of HAs along the way.  Take good care of yourself.

Welcome back!!  I was not aware u had surgery.....and so sorry to hear u r not doing well post op.

May I ask, did u feel this pain after changing position? Such as from sitting to standing or laying down to sitting? Sometimes  those with Chiari can develop related issues post op....ICP, POTS, .....it is early in ur  recovery, it could be a leak....do u feel nauseated at all?

The main thing is what r u doing when u get the pain...r u doing too much too soon?

DO contact ur Dr and let him/her know how u r doing to see what they feel  they may want to do.....

Keep  us posted
