Another day...another diagnosis...will it ever end

Well today I visited my NL again.  Last time I visited him he wrote an order for blood work and as the diagnosis, he wrote Chiari Malformation...so I was happily thinking he was on the right track.  Today however, I found out I was WRONG.  Today he says...you have migraines and the next time you come in I will do another occiptical block and some blocks in your neck.  I know you had the same thing done in Cleveland, but my technique is better.  How to do  you go from a diagnosis of CM to migraines in 2 weeks....the only blood test he ran was ATCH and futhermore from what I understand the only diagnostic item for CM is a MRI or a CINE MRI...errrrrr....did he get his medical license on-line!!!!  Also I tried to explain that I was having some other neurological symptoms such as involuntairy muscle twitches, confusion, memory loss, etc...he just shook his head and said "well migraine pain can do that."  Can you really have a migraine that never ends for 7 months???

I've sent my information to TCI (however, he does not know that) and I'm waiting to hear something from them.  So I'm wondering if I do have Chiari, is occiptical nerve blocks and injections in my neck safe?

Thanks for allowing me to vent....it's just crazy how dumb some highly educated people can actually be!!!!

I had a Neurologist tell me the same thing.  Only you know your body as Selma said.  A second opinion is never a bad idea.  From my understanding, a MRI is what confirms Chiari.  A lab test can not.

  All I can tell u is we all have been thru this dance with drs...not sure y they can not commit to a CM dx and y they feel migraines is a better one....but, u know ur body...push until u get  to the right drs for u.
