this, to me, is the perfect healthy holiday dish!! :)
These these are not recipes but suggestions for a healthier holiday season cooking.
Cut out the High Fructose corn syrup! look at the labels, these days everything has it in it. From bread, to ketsup, your name it...chances are it could have some HFCS! This stuff is hard for people to digest in a way that it doesn't turn to fat. Check your list for Thanksgiving and you will be shocked: Jelly.....bread products (rolls /stuffing)...soda of course...corn syrup in canned fruit..How do we consume in moderation? Real sugar is easier for our bodies to metabolize.
Also, last Thanksgiving I started cutting out all canned products due to BPA. So its hard to make green bean casserole with out canned stuff, but its possible. Get dried mushroom soup and frozen or fresh beans. Too many things in the shopping list for the holidays are canned for convince but more and more evidence shows the by-products of convenience is taking tolls on our health.
The fresher the food the better, and organic and natural products keep your produce and other foods free from harmful pesticides and other additives.
me either...but if u come across nething...share : )
I dont think anything I eat is healthy during the holidays....unfortunately :)
