Has anyone read the book Contents under pressure by; Raphael D'Alonzo?  I'm just finishing the dx'd part and his surgery.  Had to stop reading, but finding it so interesting and also can relate to so much. Also it meantions Dr. Tew.  I think I have heard this name here before.  Can't wait to be able to read more in the morning.

I ordered it from amazon. It was so good I just kept reading it and finished in the middle of the night. As viva says, it should have credibility since he s a scientist.  It also seems there hAve been improvements in the system since his surgery (I think it was "99) which is a good thing and also a long way to go. That part makes me grateful that I am living now w/this dx and not 20+ years ago.  I especially like that he shared his spiritual journey as well as I too feel this is all an integral part of my journey as well.  Surprisingly I understood a lot of the medical terms :-). Which I attribute to all the research I have been encouraged to do through this site with all the wonderful chiarians here.  June

So glad to hear you liked the book.  It helped me know that there are people out there that has gone through what we have, and hoping he is a scientist will bring more awareness to Chairi.  Happy to see you liked it.

I just  finished it: I ordered it from Lulu; it's printed on demand.

This is a must read, and even loaned out by my NS's office.
It can be a bit tedious w/minutia (& i hate to see typos), but he has so many of the symptoms we're so familiar with--all in one place.

He also continued to have problems w/insomnia even after surgery, so we can understand that we get the recovery we get.  But there is a surprise & happy ending.

Plus, as a scientist, I'm hoping that his memoir will be taken more seriously than mine when I recommended it to the shmucks who were so dismissive of me!

Amazon has used copies from $13.99.  The new are outrageously $$$  there is another company called Lulu that comes up from Google for $13. But it says will be shipped AFTER PRINTED. So perhaps it is out of print right now and the amazon used might be best way to go. Looks good. I am going to order one. Thanks linda :-)

I don't know where I got it.  I received it as a birthday gift, but if you want to know I'll find out for you.  It was a nice surprise to get on my front porch from mail on my B-day.  Let me know if you want the info.  I know she got it online.

Yes I have access to inter library loan, but the book is not in our province (state) data bank. Meanning that they don't have it. I will still look to buy it true internet. It's also not in the data bank from indigo book store. I wonder if barne & noble send to Canada. I will look that way. Thanks :)

I would like to read it. Where did you get you're copy. Amazone is selling it for over 100$!!! Did you get it online or in store?
